Well, I started playing this game on a recommendation, and I really think there is a lot to like here. It is somewhat of a slow burn which I can appreciate though it took me a while to get into it because of the pace. The story is solid if a little pedestrian, but it does give you a lot of time in conversation with the various characters. So if you find that building a connection with VN characters to enriches your experience then you shouldn't be disappointed from a volume standpoint. The renders and character design (idk if that is the correct term?) are pretty solid with a range of ethnicities if you like to mix it up in that way. The animations are pretty middle of the road, good enough to not break immersion I suppose. Ultimately I think if you like a fairly grounded character/story driven VN then I think this is worth a try, and worth sticking with for maybe a little longer than you might initially expect.

Based on Killer7's other game, My New Family, I expect the slow burn at the start won't last forever. So once he (hopefully) gets his equipment back, and can progress with the main plot of the game, I expect it to ramp up fairly quickly, given the events at the end of the last update. I don't think it will be long (in game) before we're banging the entire family on the regular, alongside any non-related girls in the game as well.

I'll also be interested to see how quickly the prequel progresses in that respect. Hopefully it'll be fairly balanced between the storytelling and the sexy time content. Either way, really excited for it.

It's available on other sites normally without any need for a patch, and it's even on Steam. I don't think it needs to be locked behind the Games+ wall, honestly.

Also, as a TL;DR for Killer's most recent Patreon post for those who don't feel like going to read it:

He's done his hearing in the case he was a witness/victim for (as of the date of the post, which was a few days ago), so that's all over. The case against him - which is the one that got his equipment seized, and only started because the primary culprit of the case Killer7 just testified in (who has since fled to another country) implicated/framed him. As of now they are waiting on sentencing for the case Killer7 testified in (which will likely not happen until the end of the month at the earliest), but he may need to appear again if the primary culprit returns to Germany. As for his own case, they are still waiting, and his lawyer has requested an update on the case file, but seems optimistic at the moment.

So as of now, it's still just "hurry up and wait", but at least with this hearing stuff out of the way for the time being, he'll likely be able to at least be in a bit of a better place, which should hopefully allow for him to have more of his focus on continuing work on this prequel project while he waits for updates on his own case. At least it shouldn't be too long before the first part of the prequel makes it way out here. It's not as exciting to me as chapter 4, but it'll do for the time being, until he gets his stuff back.

He just released a beta of a My New Memories prequel to his patreon. He can't continue My New Memories until he gets his hard drives back.

So I did some "digging" and found the court documents, and just for a little clarification he wasn't implicated so much as the real culprit used his likeness/username for his crypto scheme. Crazy if you think about it since the blockchain is public domain, so you could just do a simple rudimentary check on Killer's electronics to deduce weather or not; he's the owner of the crypto accounts that were involved with the scam. So much time could have been saved had the police in Germany had some basic understanding of crypto.

Ah, that makes sense, I have only been vaguely following through his Patreon. I read when it initially happened, and then again just recently caught up on a few of the more recent posts. He had kept up with the My New Family updates until it reached it's conclusion (at least for the initial game/season before the new one will start after the time jump), so I was happy to just keep playing those, and only checked on it again when I realized it had been a while since I had checked.

I mainly just said "implicated" because I wasn't fully sure on the details of how exactly the main perpetrator had framed him, so I was just covering my bases. But good to know that doing the digging found that to be the case. That sounds even more likely that - in the end - he'll eventually get his stuff back, and now it's just a matter of waiting for all the damn bureaucratic nonsense that the police are wont to do. Hopefully as the main case gets dealt with, his situation will start moving more quickly.

Honestly, the main attraction of this game are the personalities on display. The Dev likes to build in fuller characterizations and it shows. I play this more for the story than anything else (like reading Playboy magazines for the articles.)
