Until it's complete, this game is worth playing for the models and art. Concentrate on the story when you do a complete playthrough.
Thank you for writing that up was great to get some insight into how the plot became what it did in the end. And it does make more sense knowing where it started from, I think the original context (it taking place on a remote moon, implicitly setting the stage for possible advanced technology) helps with making the sci-fi elements seem more plausible.I didn't take it as bad criticism, don't worry.
The game's backstory was inspired by a short sci-fi/thriller story, without adult elements, I wrote some years ago. When I discovered the AVN world, I thought about which of my short stories would fit better into the AVN format and chose that one, changed it so much that it wasn't recognizable anymore, and kept The Company (and renamed it to make a joke about the genre), the Dorm (an inn in the original story) and the "family protectors". And that's how Eva and Amanda were "born". Then they weren't even clones of Erika/Daphne/Emma (or their originals if you play unpatched).
Since I hated when a game used the Landlady/Roommate shenanigans to avoid incest and be banned from Patreon, I designed the story to make sense (and avoid those terms) in both the patched and unpatched versions. I never thought there was a so big player base who didn't like incest, so it's a design choice I don't regret. I wanted, in the unpatched version, to have that feeling of taboo that incest provides. So having in that version the girls as clones who think they are family provided that. No "Oh, I shouldn't fuck my roommate/landlady, that's wrong" shit. I managed to get the incest feeling without real incest in a story that made sense.
The next logical step was to decide who the girls were clones of. I had Amanda and Eva around, so the choice was easy. And since I had to render them with certain looks, they became the girls' clones in the patched version.
I added all that together, moved the setting from a remote moon to Alt-California in the present, mixed them all, and got the story background. The story evolved from there and allowed me for the "bad" clones to scare MC's father so he disappears leaving free ground for the MC when he returns home. Also, it gives a sensation of "risk" and that "the MC isn't an omniscient God that knows everything that happens around him". I wanted to avoid the trope of the god-like MC who knows all, can't do anything bad, and has no flaws. He is human (a very lucky human) and has flaws. He can't know what's happening around him if he doesn't discover it in the game or if someone tells him.
Eva and Amanda's first appearances (the biker girl taking pictures of the house (chapter 3), the sniper in the forest (chapter 4), and the first time we see their base (chapter 6)) were made mysterious for a reason. We don't see Eva's face until she disguises herself as Erika before the costume party (chapter 7) to try to fuck him. If I had shown their faces previously, that scene wouldn't have had the same effect in the players. I wanted a "What's happening here?" reaction. And that's what I got with the beta testers (the three I had then play side by side with me, individually, so I could see their reactions, where they laugh, where they are surprised by a twist, etc.).
I also needed an excuse for the MC to leave for months, so the players who play the pregnancy plot can see their girls with the pregnant bellies. Having to take power in The Company, in another country, was the perfect excuse for it. I avoid a black screen with the text "6 months later".
And those are some of the design choices that took us here, and why there are sci-fi elements.
Good idea to show some advanced things.Thank you for writing that up was great to get some insight into how the plot became what it did in the end. I wonder if it would be beneficial to hint in some way to the fact that the world might be a bit more advanced than present day. Some how showing it in the world without directly mentioning it.
Obviously just my two cents in the end. Keep up the great work!
Also, is the original story out there somewhere? Would be cool to read to see how they compare.
I imagine a commercial for cloned pets by DollyCoGood idea to show some advanced things.
However, the advancement in cloning is just some plausible changes in that area:
IRL Arnold Schwarzenegger won Governorship in 2003, in My Dorm's world it was in 1999 (saving us from some of his worse movies). He approved a bill for stem cell investigation in his second mandate (2009). In My Dorm's world, he did it in the first one (2000). He is a bit younger and bolder, and the political situation allows for an earlier bill. No 9/11 has happened yet, and Clinton is still in the White House.
So the founders of The Company got funding for their research in 2002. You combine funding and young, brilliant minds and you get a breakthrough discovery: Accelerated Cloning from Embryonic Subjects (ACES). Later, when they start experimenting with human cloning, after two semi-failed experiments, they hit the jackpot with the girls, but the founders die in an accident and the company ends up in the hands of unscrupulous executives, and you get the current Company.
As you can see, a "simple" change, like the year of Arnold's run for election brings a series of changes that do not necessarily affect the rest of the world, so no flying cars or transparent phones.
About the original story, I started writing it for my wife's Traveller (RPG) character background story (in that story she was one of the protectors). What started as a half-page-long description of that mission for her character, ended up, once added the dialogue and some descriptive parts, in a short story of 14 pages. Never published it anywhere. Not much market for sci-fi written in Catalan (I'm bilingual in Spanish and Catalan, English is my second (or third) language) besides full-fledged novels; and even then, not much of a market either.

Not showing.how far along is the pregnancy?
Not really? A typical one would be more the MC totallly lucks into his harem bc "I've been sleeping around on you with these 50 girls without saying anything, but now that you've found out you've decided you can't live without my magic peen in your life..." At least this game's MC is honest up-front. I find it refreshing TBH.A typical harem game LI may be too eager to push the whole harem thing though, lacking some jealousy and competition
Thanks!I like the designs of these games.
The "jealousy and competition" thing has been done too many times. We have Emma in My Dorm to reflect that not everyone wants to share the MC. She tries to get Saira and Eileen's on each other throats because of that. We also have Erika's reaction when she finds out about Norah. And Samantha/Simone's scene.A typical harem game LI may be too eager to push the whole harem thing though, lacking some jealousy and competition
Thanks!I found the game great with nice story...![]()
Thanks!a very good game

The MC won't ever cheat on anyone. He hates secrets and dishonesty. One cheater in the family (his father) is one cheater more than needed. Not really? Thanks! This game/story has one of the better written harems out there
Thanks!Awesome, game and story.
There's no NTR tag. There's something called NTR in the game, but it has nothing to do with the kink. There is no NTR (as a fetish) in My Dorm. No other dick besides the MC will be near his girls, and neither will be LezNTR.Skeptical w/ the NTR tag, although I usually enjoy harem style games. I may give a try and see where it goes.
