It's definitely too high of a requirement. 300 - 400 is far more reasonable. All I see around here is a bunch of posts by people who don't want to post, me included.

Commenting for points is bound to result in a bunch of pointless comments, ironically. I understand why the system is the way it is, but it also has the potential to reduce the usefulness of information in the forum.

First time trying to actually grind. I've been earning LC the slow way by commenting only on posts that catch my eye. It's been fun, but 100 LC a day is a slow way to go.

Its might actually surprise you how many points you can get a day if you are actively leaving a lot of comments in different threads. It still takes time but if you want to, you can knock it out relatively quick.
