Actually his updates were pretty consistently much less than a year for the first 5 chapters. As development went on, his updates took longer and longer with each subsequent release. They ended up being more than 18 months between updates. This killed the game's paying audience, which the dev blamed for the slow down on later updates, despite also making claims about it originally being a passion project.im not sure about that.
his standard update time was 1/year
meaning if in update was october 2024, next update should be expected sept - nov 2025.
yea last update was quicker, about 1/2 a year time and shorter. and I dont think he is doing this game for money, but to kill his free time. this game is for free.
also this is approx where he stands with mentioned demo. after which he goes to light on my life. this is from 28.8.
but yes in light of my life, he already married his daughters, and is going for baby with both. .... so I think once they get pregnant and give birth its over...
The last update took about 6 months and was about one third the length of previous updates. It wasn't well received. The dev then started work on his new title, which has had a demo released. The dev decided it was too short, and went on to produce the full first chapter. In the mean time, people have been hoping for an update to this game. Supposedly once Velan Reach is "done" (Demo? Ch.1? Who knows), the dev will update this game with another chapter.
This game started really strong, but the dev really screwed up the pacing, peaking way early with "the marriage(s)", before it was even close to originally supposed to end. Now with the reduced "support" for his "free" game, he's cut back, going to push out a couple more short chapters to tie things up. It's a shame, because the game is great for the first half. I'm hoping the dev learns from this title about pacing his story a bit better and putting out updates on a more timely basis (18 months is pretty insane). The art for the the new title looks extremely similar to this one, for better and worse. I'm not sure how recycling the same "style" in a very different setting is going to work out, but I'm hopeful.
