Being a gamer isn't about the gaming itself... it's about the therapy sessions spent coping with the existential dread of 'when will the next update drop?!' 😂🕰️ Especially when you're waiting for that one game to finally release and bring some much-needed... relaxation 😏. Anyone else counting down the days until their favorite adult game gets its next update? 🤣

Golden Mean .. when?!

I realize that over the years, I play less and less 🤔. It's even rare that I start a new game these days. On the other hand, I spend much more time following the release of updates for games that I follow from afar, hoping that they won't be abandoned along the way. So I agree with you 😁!

No, I don't have any problems. No updates to the games I'm tracking? OK, there's more than enough to do in real life. Clean the apartment, grill a steak, browse the news channels on telegram, take a walk in a nearby park, go to a coffee shop with my wife, eventually watch some movie.
And these games play an extremely minor role in my life. That's the last thing I would worry about. I'm just probably not a gamer.

What is your secret sauce??!
All the above activities you mentioned have turned boring routine grind for me. I am still hooked and hopeful for the next update.
I regret 😪 not having any creativity or IT skills to create my own VN.

I don't really count days. Course there will be some games I can't wait to play, but I guess that's a part of the experience. I assume most of the creators do this as a hobby so sometimes they get abandoned. How many if any of these creators do this full time?

Every time I've ever been really excited for an update, it disappointed me when it came out. Now I don't even pay attention to updates anymore.

The old "I'm-not-getting-my-hopes-up" strategy 😒. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt (which is probably just a "I'm-disappointed-but-not-surprised" tee). Updates can be a crapshoot, right?

I really hate waiting, especially when it’s for nothing because the developer abandons their game. Right now, I try to avoid the waiting game by playing only finished games or those that are in advanced development, and I check for updates once a month

The eternal struggle of the impatient gamer 😒! I'm with you, waiting's the worst, especially when it's for a game that's just gonna get abandoned like a bad habit. Your strategy's solid, though – playing finished games or ones with tangible progress is the way to go. Monthly update checks are a good compromise, too – you stay in the loop without losing sleep over it 😴.

Waiting for Legend of Queen Opala: Origins.... then the dev drops "new beta.... fishing minigame"

My current favorite games seem to have development cycles that are measured in years at this point. I can remember when Harem Hotel made monthly releases. Then monthly turned into quarterly, and now quarterly is "once a year."

Same for Waifu Academy. I think between this last update and the one before it almost two years passed.

I just hope neither of them go the way of Ecchi Sensei...
