And most longterm poly arrangements fit the description of the harem genre. Even if its the source of the term i refuse to call a slave collection a harem.

i think we got confused here on this one...
there were 2 different arguments in this.
1. trust or abuse: the way people are treated, basically life experience can have a deeply routed psychological affect on one's sexuality as well. When i was talking about trust i was referring to trusting the person she was experimenting on gave her a safe place to experiment in.

2. visual, touch, smell, taste, sounds can have primal affects on arousal, not sexuality.

and again "core" sexuality is a Psychological thing. anyone could "enjoy" something against that, because the physiological properties of arousal are not binary. If you were to blindfold yourself, and go through a test of petting using various objects... could you determine if the pleasure came from a man or a woman, whether they were straight, bi, or gay/lesbian? No. would having been aroused or even reaching orgasm changed who you are after? not really. Core sexuality affects ones preferences in coupling, not the ability of the body to feel pleasure.
