Like the title says... but if I do write things in these forums, I'll likely be pissing people off. It is not my intention to cause discontent. I have strong opinions on a number of topics and I back them up with as much cogent reasoning as I can muster, which in this day and age gets me the labels of "racist," "fascist," and "hater," by people unable to deal with logic and reasoning assailing their cherished "virtues" they're trying to foist onto me. I just hope people here will argue passionately for their points of view while not actually holding any personal animosity for another person doing the same.

Because doing so limits one from seeking out a mate and/or copulating to produce an offspring with that impulse. It is a perversion of the natural compulsion to reproduce, which includes the development of one to display attributes desirable to others for the purposes of attracting potential mates. Playing computer games or consuming media are not hobbies, they are diversions. Compare this diversion to other hobbies like working on cars, growing gardens, fishing, hiking, shooting hoops, dancing... all those other things are entertaining as well as modifiers of attraction to interested members of the opposite sex for their (stated or implied) displays of discipline, physicality, and practicability.

The following is a statement, NOT a request for sympathy or pity: Perversion is the difference of "supposed to do" and "do." I'm supposed to be married with grand-kids already. I chose this, instead. Ergo, I am a pervert.

I like this kind of exploration. Is there a chance "perversion" could be a natural reaction to overpopulation? Some animals literally become another sex, no surgeries needed, sorry friends. Could we be developing an aversion to procreating? This tracks with the society as an organism type logic, maybe not individual as the focal point of reality type logic.

A natural reaction? No, I do not think so. My observations of various perversions seem to go back to the neolithic based upon cave drawings of some sexual acts. I think of it more like a behavioral analogy to genetics - mutations in populations occur that are mostly minor fluctuations but major ones that are noticeable do come about. The only thing having a large population does is increase the population of anomalies (i.e., 1 in 10 is a black sheep in the herd, but 100K in 1M is a community, yet both have the same rate of occurrence).

What seems to be really throwing things off the rails are the pressures of infantilizing adolescents & young adults, modern education, and economics. As more and more families have less and less children, parents become far less likely to allow their kids to be out of their sights and develop as self-actualized people. This retardation of the self for these children expresses in emotional repression, social rebellion, and other attributes I care less about. Modern education goes out of its way to force the same children on paths to college regardless of each child's needs, wishes, aptitudes, or volition. Worse, it crams an anti-pregnancy agenda onto them by shaming the vary notion of procreation in a stable coupling, imprinting the idea that pregnancy is a patriarchal burden imposed on young women that will rob them of any happiness, and that it can be done after one is accomplished in one's careers. That last bit happens to most people in their 40s and 50s who now must spend their fortunes and wreck their bodies with invasive technologies to make it possible to have a child when they would have more easily done so and had the energy to keep up with it 30 years earlier. Finally, raising children is something that has become needlessly expensive and fewer people are willing to make the sacrifices that entails. Correction: fewer "educated" people are willing to make the sacrifices - the number of older people and immigrants I see working three jobs to support their kids far exceeds the number of born citizens under my age putting in the work that I have met (dozens to zero). Yet, I see the desire of younger adults to have kids but it is pushed onto pets, the "fur babies," and every time I see a stroller with a pet I feel like I am looking at a genetic dead end pushing around an oblivious animal.

The changes animals undergo is the desperate impetus to create a next generation, to ensure one's genes or very similar genes continue in the linear progression of life. Literally, these are mutations of the species that could only survive because the species was facing oblivion from natural pressures. Procreation is so natural that it is one of the defining characteristics for anything to be called "alive."
