this is what the "gender is a spectrum" folks mean
sex is what you got in your pants, gender is everything else surrounding it
(who you are and what you like)

ignoring that separation gets you contradictions, such as:
Is it gay to be attracted to a male? in simplistic terms, Yes, by definition
is it gay to be attracted to femininity (the attributes and behaviors exhibited by and encouraged in females)? No, also by definition
(think of the answer between who would attract a "straight male" most, Hunter Schafer or Buck Angel)

if you assume that gay is simply attracted to dicks than even liking pegging makes you gay (a plastic dick is a dick notheless)
if you assume gay is about romantic feelings than "doing it on the down-low" is not gay (like the "its only gay if you catch feelings/the balls touch" fellas)

my opinion is that the debate itself is important yet moot,
if you like it (and it is being done between 2 to n consenting adults, with no damage to others), go for it
be it gay, straight, bi or whatever else, life is shitty enough without worrying what gets your trousers in a tangle (once again, applicable strictly between adults)

discuss it when bored, but try to not let it live rent-free in your head for too long, else your boner may be wasted on analyzing if the penis was feminine enough

i know that was not the best example, but others would lose the connection to genitalia
i chose that because if you go back to the "one has pussy, the other does not = straight sex" it would still be considered straight
(going beyond purely sexual stuff, some "Alpha/Sigma/redpill/whatever influencers" even say that trimming body hair or washing properly (his example was wiping your ass too much?) was gay because "it emulates what gay people do")

The way I see it, it depends on what you consider to be gay, for some people that would be any amount of attraction towards guys, for others you aren't gay if you wouldn't get in a serious long term relationship with a guy. I don't consider myself gay either, but I can appreciate a nice cock when I see one. I think it can be totally straight to like femboys, it's one thing to see a feminine man and go, yeah that's doin something for me, it's another to go out and get in a relationship with a guy and potentially marry them.
