Only if you solely rely on trying to start threads. I'm slowly doing threads but in the meantime just keeping an eye out on the auto-refresh box on the main page or visiting specific sections of the site to find topics of interest and join in the conversations. Also, leaving reviews, thoughts, comments, or suggestions in threads for games you've played is a good way to participate. You just need to naturally join conversation and drop the "grind" mentality. The coins will flow. Take some time to play other games of interest here while you get coins. there's more to the site than games+.

well a good way to keep yourself occupy is to make it interesting for yourself, impose some challenges or habits u could do
a thing i been sticking with is every day i tell a joke and see how many reactions i can get in the anti lurk thread

itsa slow day today.... mainly because of the reaction timer rule

if all else fails, reacting and replying to a thread is easy than keeping one
