female protagonists always fall into the same annoying trope of all males being assholes, abusing and blackmailing the main character, it's very tiring. Some male protagonist games do the same thing, all males but the MC is an asshole, also irritating, at least the game isn't focused on said assholery.

Lol for me it's the opposite, in normal games I always play male MC if I can but in lewd games I always pick female MC (if I can).

Here are some reasons:
- you'll probably see a lot of this char while playing, so it might as well be good looking
- in case of character customization, you can shape it to your liking
- less likely to see male gay scenes imo
- I like bestiality, and not with (human) male characters, so it maximizes my chance to see scenes with a female MC

I don't play a lot of VNs, I prefer RPGM or Unity/UE/Others, IDK if it's influencing...

You think you are weird? I prefer seeing females. In porn, I will only play female MC if there are no male LIs. If there are males, I won't play the game unless there's something different or really appealing about it. In normal games, I always play female. If its bestiality, I prefer a female with a female animal. My reasoning for all this is because I don't self insert as the MC so I would rather not see some dude or penis banging all the females as that would be no different to NTR to me. Do I think that's weird? No, everyone has their own kinks and we don't kink shame...unless you are kink shaming the majority which is perfectly fine coz fuck them, they get 99% of the content in every game

No I didn't say that, I just asked other people if they think it is weird because a lot of people in this thread said they would rather play a male MC.
For the record, I play both male/female MC (only straight games) but when I have the choice most of the time I pick female for the reasons I mentioned in my previous post.

I see. But to answer your question, no, it isn't weird to play RPG Maker etc instead of Renpy VNs. It just means you prefer gameplay over just reading and making choices. As for the content you enjoy, it's your kink so do your thing

It's hard to find female protag ones that are Renpy, not cartoony and don't have bad tags. Especially ones that don't make her a victim.
