How important is an engaging storyline to you?

Story and decisions (especially the latter)
don't have to be major decisions, but there need to be enough of them to give you the feeling that you're actually playing the game, not just reading someone else's story.

Pretty important if the DEV wants me to support them or treat it like anything more than a quick diversion. Slow burn games with immersion and good story done right are the best, but I'm also impatient AF, so I struggle with them. The worst is when you get a solid slow burn story, you stick with it, waiting for years, and then the DEV rushes it because they finally cave to pressure.

Story is probably more important than graphics to me (there is a limit to it, but I read a good amount of only written smut and smut with SFW CGs so I can usually ignore art I'm not fully onboard with if the story makes up for it). I think what's even more important than storyline execution is writing ability and style, which includes quality of translations/localizations. It can be a silly nonsense story with no real plot, but still be an amazing time because the writer has an engaging voice, characterizes well, and brings the world to life enough to ignore it's basically just another straight-forward slice of life. I could probably enjoy amateur scanned pencil drawings in an adult game if the writing was solid enough.

The storyline is what makes these games unique. Getting to know the characters builds way more sexual anticipation before you actually get to those scenes compared to just regular porn.

I find it very important. You should be able to play the game without any explicit content, and still find the story, characters and the world interesting and engaging, and I think that is the gold standard for any story based game, and it should not be the exception for lewd games. But of course, adding that lewd content to an already interesting game is what makes us want to experience the games on here, and not just stick to other pornography, or mod other mainstream games, which there are plenty of.

It's deciding point for me. I don't seek Neverwhere Tales level of storytelling from each, but it should be consistent and make sense in own storytelling.

In example, there was this game, I don't remember the name but it was a cliche husband&wife game. The problem was they did not implement routes in the game. When you choose something, they do the branching there, like husband cheats wife gets angry and revenge cheats the husband, then next scene they are all lovey-dovey because filler scenes are same for all paths. That shit was immersion breaking. I think it got abandoned or something.
