Its not that simple though... I mean the amount of states you might need to track to load into a single location, and getting one wrong will just crash the game. Its ALOT of work for some games

If the game or VN is so bad that there is a natural desire to delete this shit and never remember it anymore - what kind of fucking galleries? Shit is shit, and I don't want to go back to it. If the game has decent gameplay, then the only task of the gallery is to show exactly what you missed during the game. Nothing more. Yes, there are particularly lazy gentlemen who really don't want to waste time playing. OK, download porn videos.

I dont agree, if the easy option is there alot of people will take it and just miss out on a game they might have enjoyed. Its like cheating in a single player game, it just ruins the point. If you want to just see the images, go to an imageboard, why download a game?

I rarely go back and look through gallerys as i usually save before the good part. However, i can see the value especially if the gallery shows options you did not pick thus saving a full play-through. I don't, see the point of having an unlocked gallery at the beginning of the game as a lot of lazy people will skip the whole thing. Then it is a reward that wasn't earned which cheapens the experience.

Yes, cuz you never know when there would be a hot ass n spicy scene that get your gears going and you would need to play over a part of the game just to experience it again

First: all games should have gallery and replay options, full stop. No exceptions. There's nothing more annoying than having to try and remember what part of a long game had the scene you want to replay and having to have thirty seven different save locations to try and find it again.

Second: all galleries and replays should be able to be unlocked manually by players if they just don't want to play through the story mode any longer.

Third: If you mouse-over or click on an "locked" gallery or replay location it should hint to you what you need to do to unlock it. "This path requires Izzy Love of 10+" or "To unlock this scene try and spend more time with Laura" or whatever.

I would think this should be a requirement for VNs.

If the game isn't a VN, then this probably wouldn't apply.

I think the gallery unlocker should be a separate download. So those who want to unlock them normally don't just see and get tempted to just skip the game and go straight for the gallery. I've repeatedly stopped playing porn games because i get aggravated and unlock the gallery causing me to lose interest in the game. By making It a separate download, it will make the user second think before ruining their experience of the game.

I do agree that locked scenes should have a hint to tell you how to get it unlocked as that's one of the huge contenders of unlocking the gallery. I'm not trying to search everywhere to unlock one scene.

i agree whole heartedly! some one mentioned earlier in this thread that there are states to track and such but a scene is a scene....... for most game that would need a gallery there are more non sex-scene than the actual sex scene if you think about it so just linking to the location of such scene would be enough it is not as if you must re-make such a thing in entirety. renpy is the most easy to do such a thing with. since we are in the discussion...... i would also like to see more built-in walk throughs that look nice and fit the aesthetic of game. most are a mod that just add a green choice and a red choice or some such thing....... why not get creative with it as a developer?

Even though it kinda defeats the purpose of the "game" part, i dont see why not to include a unlock everything option, if you want to play the game normally just ignore the option and if you just want nut press the magic button.

If you want to play the game, you can play. If you just want to check out a couple scenes, you should be able to do that too.

Definitely a gallery/replay menu. But a lot of games don't need an unlock button.
