So, a new game from Partedes dropped and in its tags i saw a newly introduced ( or at least never used before ( i can be incorrect, i admit that but i never noticed this tag prior to that )) tag - hebe. I guess it sorta OK for pips who want to distinguish between types of lolies. But IMHO this should once again raise old question of additional incest related tags. When i created this thread, i saw that we actually also have a secondary incest tag - incest (optional), which is like fine... probably, for games that arent centered solely around incest... but frankly i never seen anyone using it before too.

But back to the topic of additional incest tags. We already had discussions about adding more context to good old family loving tag, but propositions about having couple of additional tags related to aristocracy favorite pass time always got rejected. Typically with justification like - too many new tags and this is bad. Even thou, some games that are marked as incest can have very different types of incest, which cant be everyones cup of tea. Like for example strictly lesbian mother-daughter pairing, on paper it is incest... incest that absolutely not interests me ( were is dick?! there have to be dick involved! ). Or in same category strictly gay brother-brother or dad-son ( im not a homophobe, i just dont get off from dudes, unless one of them looks like girl ). Now, when we have two loli tags and two incest tags, i kinda dont see a reason not to add a bit more meat to good ol' incest tag and either add pairings - mom-son, brother-sister etc, or just add family members like - mom, dad, sister etc. I dont see, how this will overinflate existing tag roster.

PS: i just learned than NTR was finally split too, now LC has even less excuse not to add family roles tags!

Yeah, we split NTR a few months ago, since NTR is way too volatile of a subject.

As for FD/MS/BS/etc, that would fall more under "genre" than an actual tag. We're trying to balance keeping tags as specific-but-broad as we can. People don't burn cities over brother-sister incest nearly as often as they do NTR. Though, typically, context clues will tell you what kind of incest will be involved. 9.9 times out of 10 it's son-mother and brother-sister, because the MC is very often from the perspective of the son than the father. Father perspective is typically from G+ games.

It's a matter of perspective I suppose, for me it's seeing a lot of comments in games repeating "X tag is missing" and I wouldn't like that.

Hyper-specific tagging **annoys the shit out of me.** When I go to AO3, they have the most infuriating tagging I've ever seen. And if you search-by-tag, you have to wade through thousands of BS tags to find real ones.

Exactly. I've seen pages that can have over 1,000 or 10,000 tags with ridiculously specific things. Want to find something? Good luck... ugh. Tags are meant to organize and make things easier to find; if they do the opposite, then they're useless. I don't want tags to search for tags.

I wasn't aiming the hyper-specific thing at you. That was a completely separate thought.

Honestly, though, like I said, it doesn't take much thought to figure out exactly what kind of 'cest is involved. Tags are meant to be broad just enough for ease of searching. As I mentioned on the "define NTR" thread, I've had this very discussion with the mod team on my own, and we just feel like it isn't worth the effort to have a tag here with two games, a tag there with one, another tag with five...when we can just umbrella-term it and have one tag with eight. At least that way it looks like there's actually content to choose from. On top of that, you might broaden your horizons a little bit, y'know?

That's why I mentioned, earlier, that it's more of a "genre" issue than a tag issue. The "genre" field in a post is supposed to be a bit more specific than the tags themselves, but most uploaders just copy and paste each other's and just largely ignore it.

I suppose we could just start adding things like "brother/sister," "mother/son," etc so that searches can hit what tag searches don't. But I can't/won't promise it'll be a change implemented.

- you need to actually open that game page for this. Tags are helpful when you skim trough search or actually make a search for a specific fetish.

I don't really think there needs to be tags for every last combination, but id accept an incest (gay/lesbian) tag or something akin to that so I know what to avoid. the only other even slightly incest related tag I could see being useful would be "stepcest" but most games fix that awful mistake with patches anyway.

i can understand you point but this is where a little common sense comes into play look at one or 2 other tags besides "incest" for your examples tags like "female protag" lesbian" "incest" chances or the game is 100% mom/daughter or sister/sister or "male protag" "incest" "gay"


a simple one tag search is just to narrow the search to genre its up to the user to further filter the search by using excluding tags gay/lesbian w/e they don't want to see, or i know some hate reading actually read the 2 sentence most games have as a description.

- except lesbian is often present even in not lesbian centered games. Chances shmances. I personally see no issues in adding family members tags. If anything, i view new hebe tag as excessive, because the only time you need to distinguish between lolis, is when toddlercon involved and toddlercon is banned on LC.

Had a lot of trouble with things wrongly tagged with "incest" on F95 or not having any distinction between female on female or male on male incest. Would love to see a more granular tagging for this manner of content.

We tag games based on content in the game at the time of updating. We don't pre-emptively tag based on planned content or the obvious insinuation of the game title. If there's no explicit incest in the game, then there's no incest tag. It'll get added when the content is added.

- i didnt expected that LC policy towards i themed games can become even more dumb, but here it is. No incest tags before protag gets his dick wet in a relatives juices.
