Are there any such games where you're thrown into a medieval environment with kingdoms, peasants, slaves and such? It can be either Romans (yes they're probably before the Medieval times), Vikings, going around and doing quests, speaking to the locals, going into the wilderness or local villages?
Not sure whether Ren'Py could cover this, probably would be under different code like Unity ? All suggestions count!

Off the top of my head I can name a few, the top two are probably more of what you're looking for:

Esteria (pretty sure it was abandoned)

Peasants quest

Town of passion

Sanguine Rose

Roundscape adorevia

Tales of Terrara

Imperial Chronicles(if you like fantasy)

SnowStorm is good

Price of Power (medieval setting, i remember it being a slow burn romance avn, it was pretty wholesome stuff)

you do not so much go into the wilderness in this one, in fact the story is very localized to the town you are in, but the setting is medieval, you do tasks for people around the town, but here is the potential dealbreaker for you...... it is a renpy game. there is not so much "gameplay" as there is point and click and narrative. it may be worth a look though if you are dead set on the setting, there are also magic elements as it is a mind control themed game. The game is called Long Live The Princess.
