You play as an MC with a generic backstory who happens upon a universal remote that allows him to enter fictional worlds by changing channels. A fun way to incorporate parodied licenses like brady bunch or potter in order to add spice to typically generic stories. Will you use the power of the remote to corrupt the characters around you? Yes.... yes you most definately will. Quantum Leap meets Click meets every adult fanfic ever created. Would probably require a lot of effort as many character models and environments would be required, but does this plot sound intriguing? Some worlds would allow for a slow burn type of story while others would allow for a quick interaction to "nut off". Different stories can keep it fresh for a long time while a deeper arc can make it all feel connected. It's an idea very early in thought. For those with experience in VN's does this seem plausible?

Yep, sounds like a lot of work. If you're going to use Daz3D finding assets will probably run into walls that you'll have to figure ways around (unless you're good at creating models). I can sound fun, but not necessarily erotic. If you're a stand alone dev, I wouldn't even try tbh. It's going to require pretty good knowledge of programing, art and modeling. Unless you got 6+ months of development time on your hands for a beta test.

That doesn't sound good as a "story" game. If you want to make something like that you will have to split your attention and work between few or more worlds. Writing good story out of it is impossible because you would need a separate story for each channel.

The only method I think have chance of working is if you create some sort of multiverse, like Marvel Comics did or Pendragon book series. If, for example, you would gather a party of characters from different worlds and then travel with them to different worlds it would help the idea of having different channels while creating only one story, like something evil threating the existence of all channels together. That even sounds interesting if you would have to gather a party of Mulan, Black Widow, Maleficent, Princess Leia and Ellen Ripley to fight something as a team. A lot of place here for parody and humorous interactions.

The main problem would be deciding how many different channels to introduce because too many is also not good for the story.

Would be easier if you use time periods instead of fictional worlds, and you meet historical characters with already defined personalities, also the remote would need a recharge, lets say a year or 6 months, that way you can make a good story and not the usual "i fucked up, let's use the remote to fix it"

This could work as a Hand Drawn or A.I game, it would partially solve some of the problems.

ngl it sound like the game would be a masterpiece. But it also looks very expensive, and it would take a shit ton of effort and time. Its basically up to you but the idea is awesome

may as well just do a modern vn porn reboot of the number of the beast. story book reality time and multiverse hopping done with incest and sharing back in 1980 via a sci fi novel. why not copy them like most multiverse crap thats come out since then.

I think this could actually work very well, so long as you are aware of the specific difficulties and solve them:

- The events in the various universes will have to be independent from each other. That's no problem so long as you are aware of it and don't try to fight against it. Just make it a series of essentially independent episodes. In the same way that Star Trek - The Original Series had stand-alone episodes, each dealing with a monster of the week, you will need to create one stand-alone "love interest of the week" story per universe/franchise. I would start with some of these, and try to make each of them recognizably in the style of the respective franchise.
- Once you have a few episodes, you can think of the details of the framework story connecting them. You will then know what you are working with, and you will have some useful experience before you start on the framework universe that people will see at the beginning and end of every episode. Sure, there should probably be some cases in which the framework story and the episode are connecting in non-trivial ways. But it's probably best if that's not always the case, and if you start with the regular cases. (In terms of creation order. Even if you first release a series of disconnected episodes, you can later reorder them as you develop the framework story and embed them into it.)
- Regarding the problem with the models: I would solve this by using the same 'cast' of models (like actors/actresses) for all episodes, just varying the costumes. If you know the European Disney comics, you may already be familiar with the concept. There is a large number of comic strips that are parodies of classical novels with Donald Duck and his nephews, Uncle Scrooge, Daisy, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, etc. all playing the roles of the original protagonists. The tension between the 'natural' behaviors of the 'actors' and those of the roles they are playing are a good driving force for making the parodies distinct from the originals. But even if you don't make much use of this, you can at least reuse the models. Don't bother creating an in-universe explanation why people in different universes look eerily similar. I can't remember what it's called, but I am sure there is an article on tvtropes.org that explains how to deal with such plotholes through the simple expedient of making a character comment on how strange it is. That turns it into a mystery in-universe, and there is no need to save this mystery.

As intriguing as that idea sounds I am convinced MC is actually me browsing through the folders of my archive and backlog and my mouse is the universal remote.

Nice idea i think, it have a potential. You even can made a cheap HTML game, with cosplay porn. It has stored over an years in internet, so i guess you will not have a problems with a content to it

The premise is interesting, but I wonder if having several "channels" wouldn't mean stretching too thin. Unless there will be repeatable characters that grow with the plot progression it can become a bit boring. I guess a good example is Eternum here, they have different "worlds" which is extremely interesting but it's the same characters that drive the plot anyway

I think its an interesting concept, but your going to have to make something that is constant, from what I'm getting the other characters are going to have limited screen time so either the MC is an interesting enough character to make you comeback each update or there are some permanent girls that players can get invested in. Otherwise I could see it getting stale pretty fast.

I like the idea, but like the previous speakers I think it could get challenging. However, 'How I became a hero' manages to keep it up with two worlds, so having a few more worlds/channels should be possible to handle. Might be best to not "swap channels" too often, though. At least not until there has been a bit of progress.

Or Koikatsu. I think I saw a KK game with a similar premise actually except for the click part.

Good idea but it will take a lot of time and you may get angry or bored and end up abandoning the game. Also keep in mind the story so you don't get confused but anyway I wish you luck if you think about that project. P.S: Don't put ntr but netori :3

I could see Cardibis (Eternum, Once in a Lifetime) taking on this kind of concept, I think they've got the chops to make it happen.
