I have no idea if the patch is global or not, so...

The patch is only for the current Season 1; Season 2 doesn't need a patch since all the Dark Path content is pretty minimal. The dev is planning on remaking Season 1 to get rid of the Dark Path and opting to pivot focus to a "corruption" path instead

It def sucks, but that's just how it is in the current day, at least the dev has been releasing as many of the assets as he can and reworking the code to make FIN more modable, so if someone wanted to, they could mod back in the dark path and all the other stuff that was cut but, only time will tell if someone actually goes through the effort to do so

Presumably the remake is purely to comply with Patreon guidelines? Because the renders in this were really nice from the start. I definitely would have preferred for the dev to just complete the game first rather than start again midway through!

Some love interests might be changed or removed as well, but the dev hasn't confirmed anything outside of the MC's sister no longer being a LI

That's the thing. He didn't say she is of the table, but also didn't say she isn't. He is dancing around a clear answer. And it's also not just because of Patreon, but presumably also because of SS. His reasoning is, that they had change in policy, that made it necessary to get rid of the DP and also of incest. But this policy change was also reverted again. IMO, at this point it's him choosing money over his own vision and story. Getting rid of the DP, I do understand to some degree, but the sister thing, he clearly could've worked around it, but choose not to out of convenience rather integrity.

He already reworked most of part one. So if he's redoing it again all it will accomplish is to slow down progress of season two once again.

Like written above each new game update is getting worse and slowing down development.

As for me I never cared about the dark path, but hate how a few LI's were changed, and now incest is probably gone.

Yeah, Dark path allowed you to do more than a single playthrough to get different options and outcomes. Can they remove it and not remove love interests. Or even still have corruption at all. Come on it's the moralizers, and the payment processors, the SJWS. He will never finish this game. Or it will be like vanilla as hell by the end.

He gated some content to the dark path though. It's like he has to remake the game. Why even put that in, in the first place. Why age up all the characters. Remove incest, remove prostitution etc. I think a laundry list of taboo is simply going away. Not just the dark Path. We know why without needing to speak it. The same thing that happened to all the other games with risky content. Maybe he can give love paths to girls you only could get through coercion before, with MC money and influence.

But that is a different game isn't it.

Majority of my path was love and corruption. MC cheats on so many girls he has the money to do so. Tells them all he loves them. Maybe a single love interest playthrough how do you do that?

Anyway you can still restart the relationship in season two after they both decide to cool it off for a while.

Though based on comments the dev is reworking the game for a second time so who knows now.

It's turning into another Summer's Gone were it was ruined by censorship.
