In that hypothetical situation, people would only create for the genres I choose? Or games would be made normally, I just would only be able to play from the ones chosen? If the latter, as I undestood from your post, it makes more sense to choose popular genres that have lots of entries than the ones you do like best.

TBH, I would be missing nothing by not having the remaining 7 genres from the poll. I pretty much just did a checklist of nope, nope, nope, and baddabing baddaboom, had my vote ready automatically.

It actually made me wonder... do we as a community have a term for that - the people who are very limited or restricted in the genres they like? Would it just be "specialists" (as opposed to "generalists")? "Those with refined tastes"? "Snobs"?
