discussion File Loading issues

I just joined the site and I think its a great place, but i am having issues loading images. In all the forums Images show there files name and nothing else. Like a .png. If this is a normal issue let me know if there's a fix on my side.

also I'm very new to forums and not sure if I'm posting this in the right place. or if this deserves a post at all.

Any advice would be awesome thanks!

I am having the same problem, I wouldn't panic yet. We are in the process of doing some reconstruction on the site and this is likely just a manifestation of that. You could try to clear your cookies, but I'm inclined to think it's server side.

Seems to be the issue for a lot of images, though not all! Zooming your screen is a good workaround if there's previews

I am having the same problem, I wouldn't panic yet. We are in the process of doing some reconstruction on the site and this is likely just a manifestation of that. You could try to clear your cookies, but I'm inclined to think it's server side.

That is mostly correct... There was a server system OS crash.. Not Good under any circumstances That took out portions of the active database's that handle the attachments... I believe that there is someone that has been working on restoring that database. We are also trying to restore them by hand. Which is a very very slow process.

Yeah, this is what I had figured has taken out the thumbnails. It's nice to receive confirmation though.

Also, for what it's worth, I have been a fan of your sister in law for a very long time and I hope you are improving in health. I agree, getting old sucks.

Yes it DO!!! Sucks big time... There ain't no Gold in the Golden Years...

the best way to repair this is to:
if you play a game that has missing or corrupt images in the OP, snap some quality screenshots, upload them & report your post as:

check other / type replacement images for the OP

OK, I feel dumb. I only just now saw what forum this message thread is on. I wouldn't have given such a low effort answer in the first instance had I noticed this was a troubleshooting thread.

That being said, thank you for the information on how to resolve this, I can actually do that.
