I always use "Zero" because one of the first AVN I played had a bug and, if you tried to write any name other than the original, it would default to that, which I found it funny.

I keep the default name if it is not too ridiculous. Otherwise, I choose a random one.

I don't like to self-insert. Either the default, or I go with "Adam" because I've never met an Adam and it feels like a reasonable "everyman" name.

I recently adopted a new name for any resident douchebag/bully in a VN (there are a few I've played that give you the option to name antagonists): Preggo12.

If you hang out in other venues, you might recognize the name.

Sometimes I just use the default name but if it's one that someone I know uses, I switch to my own. Don't want to think about my buddy Mark or Steve when I'm cranking it, nope nope totally nope
