Aren't sandbox games also played in this way? Are you thinking of moving around in a space, for example from room to room in a building? Games like this are also considered sandbox games, but it doesn't make much difference.

Carnal instinct maybe what you're looking for, very heavy on the furry. Last hope is also 3d free roam but it's limited to a space ship. Games like that are quite rare and most of the time aren't too interesting.
