Wasn't planning on watching it but apparently a few people including journalists from some European countries are having trouble with the people sent from Israel and a country has already been disqualified because of this, so there's more than a remote possibility that it could become a real shit show so maybe I should.

No, I can't let you say that. I have a friend who opened my eyes to this subject.
Even if it's very often electronic music that I don't like, there are some gems. But this year, it's far too politicized, and anyway, my country ends up in the bottom 10 every year.

yeah, been so for a long time. Nowadays(especially after the invasion of Ukraine) its politics is the "moral police" kind of way, as long as I remember there have always been loads of countries that vote for a neighboring country no mater how bad the song is. Some of this is obviously ppl crossing the borders to vote for "themselves".
As a Norwegian I find if fun that "we" "always" give Sweden high scores, and they only gives us points if our contribution is an actual contender.

Norwegian myself and yeah its kinda weird one sided habbit. But yeah there is always a "Throw them out" type of political correctness around Eurovision... when i really (maybe unpopular opinion) dont really get why israel cant compete... its not like their neighbour shows good manors attending dance/music parties....

not really its cultural and historicaly that "we" always seen the Swedes as a "Big- Brother" nation... we call them "Sweet brother" (Søtabror) and they call us Nor-dudes(?) (Norrbaggar) "Norrbaggar" is Swedens oldest known curse word...

Is this a misunderstanding someone is watching? competition for freaks, eurovision 2024 is proof of this. Even 10 years ago, I could still say that there are talents from all over Europe performing there, but now this is the place of a circus of political offended freaks.

I actually watched it even though I thought I wouldn't. I haven't seen it for maybe 10 years. And safe to say I won't be watching it again anytime soon.

Whenever i hear about it, its always because of some dumb drama, never gonna watch it
