Overview:
Take on the mantle of Doriel - a young elf living alone with his mother near the human settlement of Briarstead. Though you have lived here your entire life, your human neighbors look at you with prejudice fueled by a history of war and hatred between man and elf.

Experience tender young romance with the protagonist's childhood friend; once an elven urchin begging on the streets, Sunny has grown into a hopeful, timid young girl whose fate has become intertwined with yours.

Meanwhile, as the day draws to a close, rivalry among his companions blossoms. And in the midst of this casual spring day, Sunny and the protagonist grow closer still, oblivious to the unraveling web around them.

The protagonist learns about the stolen legacy of his people and takes the first step on the journey to restore it under the guidance of his mother. All the while Sunny's frustration escalates as she continues struggling with her newfound ambition; her only solace is the company of her new friend, and the loving embrace of the protagonist. But tensions in Briarstead rise when unwanted visitors finally arrive into the village.

Episode 3 (1st of December, 2021)
Following his recovery, the protagonist attempts to return to the normalcy of his life before the incident while Sunny experiences the yearning of ambition for the first time. New friends are made during the quiet before the storm, even as political tension in the kingdom rises and ancient feuds unfold.
Chapter 1: Part I (2nd of July, 2021)
The first part of Chapter 1 follows the aftermath of the Prologue; friendships are sealed or forever broken, the prospect of future love blossoms, and the protagonist struggles with the nightmares of his traumatic ordeal.
Prologue (5th of March, 2021)
The prologue offers an introduction into the world and some of the main characters. It focuses on a few key events in the protagonist's past as he tries to recollect what led to his current, deadly predicament...
There are four possible endings to the prologue, determined by certain choices you make (none of them are 'bad' endings). Most choices don't affect the ending, but all of what you say and do can change the course of events, alter dialogue, provide different insights into characters/lore or steer the characters towards a certain direction that will be explored in later chapters. There is one choice in particular that will have a drastic impact on the next chapters and how a certain character perceives you - you'll know it when you see it.

- Though it contains illustrations, Elvensang is very dialogue heavy. I am working on adding more and more artwork to improve the image:text ratio to add variety to the typical "VN model" (background+sprites dialogues), but there is still a lot of reading to do.
- I started learning how to draw for the purpose of making my own visual novel, and since I am still in the process of learning, the art can be rough around the edges at times (especially in the earlier episodes). But if you can survive the rougher bits of art, I think you will see just how much I improve with the release of every episode.
- Elvensang is not a dating sim - vanilla romance with the main romantic interest, Sunny, is mandatory (canon). Rather than develop half a dozen shallow love interests who exist in a vacuum detached from the main story, I prefer to explore one romance in great depth, closely connected to the main story and then allow the players to adjust the nuances of their relationship with Sunny.
