Do you think that AAA games should add explicit sex scenes?

Showing a boob shouldn't be a problem, but "explicit sex", that would give all kinds of ratings problems i think

i like the i candy in games, maybe some easter egg like things can show more, but true explicit?

Make it an optional DLC. that way it can keep puritans in their place and sate the thirsty ones and the corporate greed

i agree, it is kind of stupid how people look at you weird for saying something like that. if its adult then its adult, would rather have all than half. at the same time though it also depends on the kind of game/story it is, if it gets added in just for sake of it then no point. it depends in that sense i guess. needs to be thematically reasonable

99% of the time no but there are some games where i just say "it feels weird that there isnt one here"

It depends on the game; maybe it's optional, but personally, it doesn't appeal to me much.

Just look at every mod site for RPG games. What are the most popular mods sex mods. Especially for Bethesda games.

That right there shows sex sells. Heck even CDPR knows this, but has been trimming down the sexual-stuff on each new game.

Meanwhile, Hasbro is like: Sure, the player can fuck a druid that has shapeshifted into a bear.

I don't think it would really add much to most games to have sex in it. I know there are mods for games like Skyrim but compared to the amount of people who don't use those mods it feels like it's a small amount of players who want to have sex in games.

BG3 had a lot more intense sex scenes then just the bear.

That crazy drow paladin was a lustful wench in Act one.

You just had to be evil to get her to join you on your quest.

Which I think further proves my point. There were absolutely wild romance options in BG3 and one of the world's largest toy manufacturers was like "ship it." Somehow in this once instance Hasbro had brassier balls than any traditional AAA publisher.

I believe that due to the majority of the world being run by old boomers, getting a game with copulation approved is one of the biggest hurdles.
Also from a sales perspective adding sex to AAA games would legally require them to mark the game as above 18 only thus losing sales as kids make up a significant portion of em and I doubt any parents will allow their kids to play 18+ games.

I don't think adding explicit sex would really enhance games that were not intended to have it from the beginning. But I do believe that there is a huge untapped potential market for games with explicit sex, and new AAA games with this in mind would profit a lot.

I don't think there is a need for them to add that type of content nor is it realistic that they ever will. There are just too many societal hurdles they would have to negotiate first.

I think there is nothing wrong with it, but there is less and less games willing to show anything. Imposible to have explicit fanservice

I always understand the reasons behind why this tirade against nudity happens, and it is pretty weird how socially acceptable murder has become over sex...

But like, beyond a bit of horniness, I really see no reason why there would ever be any use in the inclusion of explicit sex scenes.
It's been a while but if I remember right one of the god of war games had a section where Kratos fucked aphrodite. It was a pretty good way to develop the character and story. Perhaps with more examples of meaningful use of eroticism in adding depth to games it would become more obvious that it can be useful for more than causing a physical reaction.
