Not really, can't say I really see myself in the majority of game protags so would be awkward lol

I hate moron main characters.
I hate main characters that smoke or do drugs.

I can useall ignore a smoke or beer scene if the rest of the game is good.
But as a devoted anti antiholic i desite games threating it as normal to want to get wasted.
Fucking losers.

I have no preference for protogonists. Man, woman, tall, short, fat, thin. As long as it's not an “ugly bastard”, I don't care.

Yes, to be fair. Especially if the MC does some unexpected ridiculous decisions which are so far fetched that I can't immerse myself anymore.

Most of the events and situations are so unrealistic I never really saw myself in any of the MCs anyway. If I had to choose I don't like middle of the road characters. I like really good, or really bad, nothing inbetween.

Not really, but I dislike protagonists that act are douches and forces themselves on others

I want to see something in myself. I find it hard to enjoy games where the MC is a sadist, or when they’re super immature. But anything middle of the road is good.

Depends on how they are different from me. Some behaviors I find really annoying that I have to stop playing mostly really immature MCs.

No, I've never self inserted into any game, I don't get it.
To me, playing the game is almost the same as reading a comic or watching a movie, the difference being I can choose between multiple scenarios.

No, being able to separate fantasy from fiction is a very important skill to have, especially when it comes to ero-games - and that means being able to separate yourself from the protag. However, I do get annoyed when the protagonist is continually stupid or just can't think for themselves.

I never identify myself with the MC and never think of me being the MC, makes it easier to seperate Fantasy from Reality.

I find it difficult to play games with a female protagonist. It's harder to insert myself into the role, I suppose. I do actually read and such so maybe that's a part of it. I really do play the games "for the articles."

One of the chloe games had a male protagonist for a chunk of it and I was enjoying it well enough (kind of an old game, at least a few years iirc fake family maybe?) and part way through, after a fair chunk of content it was a swap to chloe as the protagonist and I lost interest. Book of Lust does something similar in that you're switching protagonists throughout it.

I always find it offputting. I wish I didn't because it'd open more games for me to get into.
I agree, it is at least offputting. I can not play those kind of games.

No - i just dont play such games.

If the story is good enough, or the art keeps me engaged, I couldn't care about identifying with an MC.

I can play as most characters with little difficulty . however if I'm playing a porn game I cant play if they are female, poorly written, or Evil (I'm talking evil evil).

Nah. Sometimes the MC too young, too old, too ugly, too handsome, I don't like his face, his hair, his loss of hair... and very frequently, he is a little shit or a big asshole, no other way.

I prefer when the MC is closer to my own believes and ideas. But as long as I don't hate him(her) and his deeds, I'm okay, i'ts a game.

I don't care. I don't self insert so it's irrelevant to me.
I perceive the stories as ones written for the characters presented in them. Not as something that I have to insert my personal values into.
