Last update was on October 2023. Dev stopped responding on March 2024, it's mentioned he got sick and went to the hospital due to Dengue in Brazil.

That's about it, hasn't responded ever since. It's either dev lost the passion to make the game or the worst case scenario, he passed away from Dengue.

Very likely the second one.
I've actually talked with this particular dev here in DMs.

Here's the thing. He was SO DEDICATED to the cause of making a VN that he was rendering with his 1080... or older GPU laptop. Then taking each individual render off daz and editing, converting it via Photoshop.
He told me that it was one of the factors for why the updates were taking so long to make. He hoped to save enough to get himself a good computer and work faster. Very dedicated to finishing it and had laid out plans. There is no way in hell he just out of nowhere lost interest.
Even if he did, he was very outspoken on the... other site. Nearly always available to answer questions. He would've told people something.
Unfortunately, it's... just a sad reminder that people die out there on daily basis

It is a shame. I enjoyed this VN, and I'm not all that big on most VNs, but this one stood out in a good way.

Perhaps someone may either pick up where this left off, or make a new version like how there are two versions of Personal Assistant.
