First off, I wanted to say thank you to the various members here that have provided instruction and help creating GIF's. I was lucky enough to see these instructions in the lurker thread, and didn't see a separate thread for them so I wanted to post them here, and use this thread for people to ask questions and comment about important details.

Here are the steps I saw in the original post:
  1. Put gif in EZ gif.
  2. Crop, cut, etc. until it's how you want.
  3. Use effects to add a 20px solid border.*
  4. Get the address of that gif from ez gif and load it into Gif meme maker |
  5. Add any text or images you want animated using its features.
  6. Export the gif
  7. Upload the gif to EZ gif again.
  8. Crop the 20px border away.
  9. Add any static text you want.
  10. Save gif
  11. If the file is large, convert to webp and save that version too (use it when needed)

For step 3, some people might benefit from this, I know it flummoxed me for a bit.
When I add a border in Ezgif, it screwed up the GIF.

So then I noticed the directive just above the Apply button:
Experiencing problems with broken/flickering output GIF? Try to the source image first!

You didn't link the original post?!

Also, You skipped step 10... That's why your images aren't showing.

Some additional information from: whydoineedto's original post

to grab stuff from youtube, you can select the quality.
to cut large videos (movies, shows) down to manageable clips, you can burn in subtitles into the clips.
to make higher quality base gifs than what ezgif usually provides. It's very basic and has some limitations but it can give you a nice file to then edit with ezgif and gifmemes.
