So. I have thoughts.

I played this both before and after the recent rework. Let me emphasize that this is just my opinion. I'll also say that I get that not everyone would be into the game as it previously was released (or even now). It still has some FemDom elements, and before it was pretty heavy into the femdom side/feel, there was a bit of forced semi-reverse rape/SA (arguably). Not everyone's gunna be into that, just a fact. But.

The changes made in this version feel like an overreaction. It feels like the dev is compromising their vision of the story for the sake of quieting their critics and trolls. Some of the previous criticism was absolutely valid, but.... I see a little bit of the dev possibly holding themself back from achieving their vision of this game due to that. Doing that is almost always going to result in a less good game than it otherwise could have been, and likely, a less rewarding experience for the dev as well. Changing the relationship between witch/champion is one sign of that.

At this point, I see no reason to go and try and change things back. I guess what I'm saying is: I hope the dev still feels free to take the stories and characters of the game in the directions they want them to go and doesn't end up hamstringing themself due to criticism.

I still very much enjoy the game in its current state, so this isn't really a complaint, more an expression of... concern... that the game may not end up being as good as it otherwise could have been. Still, here's hoping all works out well.

After the awesome game Mist I cannot wait for this!

oh a new thing by the developer of mist? for sure worth checking out.

New game from the MIST dev is worth checking out!

Game looks great so far I played mist and loved it, I'll wait till this one has had a few more updates before I play as I expect changes to the early parts of the game like it was with mist

Gonna try this game out after playing MIST, that game was amazing so I'm looking forward to this one as well.
Mist was definitely one of my favorites: great story, nice artwork. So, I started Children of Morn (as Covenant of Morn was originally called) and got through a few updates before giving up. Not sure why I couldn't get into the story, since the Dev's earlier VN (Mist) was so good. I suppose that each VN will have its own following, regardless of who the Dev is. There may well be folks out there who hated Mist but are really excited by Covenant of Morn

I enjoied the beginning of the new game Covenant of Morn. One of the few sandbox games, i really like

mist was great
but i'm going to wait for more updates of this one or even for it's completition

I'm trying to wait for this game to be finished because I loved Mist so much and want to experience it in one go. But dear lord I may have to give in

I love Mist but I dislike this game and it isn't for dumb shit like femdom as I love femdom.
I hate the protagonist, his skin color, the characters, and everything besides the mystery

dang, thought was newer update than i have. so far this game i feel is not as good as previous 2 games but the dev kinda set the bar high with the previous works. will keep a eye on it and hope it improves. (a tale of eden which was his first game felt like it was a bit rushed towards the end but mist is as solid as they come)

I haven't played this game yet but I played and liked his previous game.

In his previous game (MIST) there was a little bit of femdom and torture and people disliked it so the Dev should have known what was coming if he added femdom again.

This may be only my opinion but I think femdom doesn't fit in a harem game, after all the harem genre is a power fantasy so having the MC being dominated doesn't make sense.

Completely valid take, imo. Wasn't aware of that history, and everyone has a right to their own preferences/opinions regardless.

It just felt to me like the dev had a completely different view of how this would go- something unique in flavor and composition. Your opinion that FemDom+Harem= a mess is pretty common - you rarely see these together, and femdom is frankly never going to be universally loved (nor any other genre, but that one more so than some). So I was interested to see where it would go. From a writing/composition standpoint, it had seemed well put-together, and it was so early on it was impossible to really tell whether it was going to work or not. Regardless, the dev felt the pressure to provide the product that their audience demanded, so they changed it. For the better? Maybe, it's pretty good so far. But we'll now never know if there was something special in that original vision, had they stuck to it. And my observation of the arts in general is, changes made for the sake of appeasing the masses are rarely for the better.

The point of my making these posts was not to complain about the new state, about people complaining, or about anything else. It was to try to encourage any devs that read it - those that feel strongly about a particular idea, but receive some criticism of it - consider for yourself whether that feedback is right or wrong, don't just do the thing that makes the most money on the next release.

Though I really can't blame any dev for doing that, either. After all, money talks.

Loved MIST, as well as the dev's older game before that, so getting another game from them is always great

Mist was a gem, looking forward to play this new one

No incest tag? i remember The Mist had it. Anyone knows if its planned?

So Mist was fantastic. How does this game measure up?

I hope it´s as good as their other game

Is there enough content to merit a play yet? Or is it just setup?
