discussion Cats or dogs? And Why?

i grew up with cats so I'm heavily biased but i would love to have a dog someday to see what it's like

I like both but prefer cats mainly because dogs can smell (yes I'm aware that a dirty box smells as well but it stays in the box) and they can drool.

Cats. I appreciate their independence, and I find a purr a much more satisfying sound than any sound a dog makes. I appreciate that they're really only half tame at best, that their DNA hasn't really changed much in a hundred-thousand years. I appreciate the soft affection, the lack of neediness, and the hunting of vermin.

Cats are fun goobers. Every one I've had had a ton of personality, and most of them made for good cuddlers when they're in the mood.

The thing about cats is that you have to get their permission first. Let them know that you won't force them to do anything, and they'll be more open to pets, cuddles, etc. A good way to start is to offer a finger. Letting them smell you is basically saying hello.
