Overview:
In "Back to Freedom", you are a former elite soldier who made a mistake during a mission and caused the death of several allies. The consequences were harsh, and you were sentenced to ten years in prison. When you are finally released, you just want to live a peaceful life again. But will the past let you live in peace?
The game is a visual novel with branches. There's a stat system that builds up according to your choices, a money system, a replay gallery, an achievements system, minigames, and lots of adult content unlocked depending on your choices and stats.
This is a game where most of your choices matter and impact the story. Will you succumb to corruption and kill everyone in your path to achieve your long-awaited freedom, or will you follow the path of righteousness? It's up to you.

What to expect from this game:
1 - The game is not a sandbox. It's a visual novel with branches and more advanced and interactive systems than a regular visual novel. We have stats, money, stores, minigames, cars, achievements, and things that are not usually present in most visual novels. However, there is no grind. I tried to achieve a balance between a simplified visual novel and a complex sandbox. However, a sandbox mode becomes available once you finish the current story mode. There, you can repeat past events and find exclusive characters and content of that mode.
2 - At first, the story is simple and focuses on the MC's everyday life. As you advance, you discover a more complex plot and individual problems of each character. Some
mechanics also take a while to appear
. Please be patient and don't judge the game by the first few in-game days.
3 - The main character is a former elite soldier, so you can expect him to be fit, strong, and very good at hand-to-hand and ranged combat. Plus, he's a sex machine. I need him to be like this to tell the story the way I planned. If you want to play with an inexperienced guy, who is despised by women and who will only have his first sexual experience after a long time, maybe this game is not for you.
4 - Some people complain about not being able to refuse some characters in the game. I need it to be clear: You can't avoid starting a relationship with the main cast characters. Once the relationship has started, you can avoid any character until the story progresses enough and the relationship evolves. Also, many scenes will only be available if you meet some requirements, like stats or previous choices. Please keep in mind that this is an adult game. Getting to the end of the game by bonding with just one or two characters would be like playing an FPS and trying to finish the game without taking a shot. Side characters, on the other hand, can be refused and ignored. And maybe you don't even find some in the game, depending on your choices.​

- More events and mechanics from the story have been added to the sandbox mode, such as racing events, sniper missions, and riddle challenges, adding another layer of action variety to this mode.
- Almost all characters are now available in sandbox mode, with a few exceptions that need to wait until the end of the story. The new characters with content available in the sandbox include Alexia, Samantha, Liya, Charlie, Kleio, Canela, Katrina, Ms. Aniston, Ms. Akira, Martina, Nastia, Shalina, and Emily, in addition to extra content added to several other characters.
- The phone in sandbox mode has been completely redesigned. Although the appearance is very similar to the previous one, the phone is now made almost entirely with in-game code, except for the backgrounds, which are now selectable, just like those on the home PC. With this, the phone is now interactive, and you can use it by clicking (or tapping if you're on mobile) its buttons on the screen. The phone now has four buttons. One for each of the main features: Call, Message, Dating App, and Settings.
Note: Not all phone features are available in this version and some will be added or improved in future updates.
- Further improved the map. After receiving reports from some players, I realized that the icons for the characters' houses with their photos, as well as the icons for the girls' rooms, led players to believe that those characters were in that location at the moment they opened the map, when in fact the photos were only there to indicate who owned that room or house. For this reason, I changed all those icons. Now they no longer contain pictures of characters to avoid confusing players. Other map icons have also been changed to more colorful and vibrant versions.
- The character's location button (calendar icon) has been moved from the footer to the map, next to the clock icon that advances time. Now you can check the location of each character and their specific conditions directly from the map. A simple quality-of-life change, but one that further improves the map's functionality, since now players don't need to leave the map to open the character's location screen.
General changes:
- The options menu has been slightly improved. It's cleaner now, and the active option buttons are in green. Also, you now have a new config in the options to change the main character's name at any time during the game.
- In response to player requests, the number of save slots has been increased to 30 (from 20). Even so, I still recommend that players use the "Save to Disk" option, which lets you have an unlimited number of saves and prevents them from being lost when you clear your browser's cache.
- The default save feature has also been improved. A prompt now opens whenever you click a save slot, and you can name your saves however you like. If you don't want to bother naming your saves, the default name will now be the current day of the story, and no longer the text that appeared at the beginning of each passage. Ex: If you save the game when you first reach your house, the save will now be named by default "Day 1 - Monday" instead of something like "Home sweet home. I will finally meet my family again".
- $7.50 supporters or higher now have a new cheat on the cheats page that adds 10 of every item to the inventory, making it easier to obtain items that are only found at certain points in the story through the drug dealer. The design of the gallery unlock button and the achievements unlock button, available to $10 and $20 supporters, respectively, has also been improved.
- Fixed a minor consistency bug after Lana's non-corruption route scene on day 42.
- Fixed some typos reported by players.

- Sandbox update.
- Added 35 more story scenes in the sandbox mode.
- Added a few new peek scenes at home.
- 3 new locations available.
- The sandbox story is now a combination of as many story routes as possible, making this mode the ultimate harem mode. Therefore, this mode will ignore most of the choices the player made in the story to give access to as many scenes as possible. Example: Even if you didn't win Angela back in the story, the sandbox mode will consider that you did, and you will have all the girls living with you, including Adriana, even if you chose her corruption route. Likewise, you will have access to scenes from both the corruption and non-corruption routes of all characters who have this choice available in story mode.
- Because of the previous change, Adriana and Ava's houses were removed from the map, and their scenes in those locations were adapted to the new reality.
- Changed the button to leave, in the house map, to a larger version and added the word "Leave" on it, as some players were having trouble finding the exit. Also, the button now is on the upper right corner of the map.
- Further improved the map navigation system. Now, when you click your home from the city map, you enter straight into the house map. Likewise, when you click "Leave" from the home map, you have direct access to the city map. With this change, you are now two or at most three clicks away from any place on the map, whether at home or in the city.
- Now, to return to story mode, you have a much more convenient and faster way. Just click the new red button labeled "Back to Story" on the map.
- You can now check the time of the day in the map.
- The button to advance time (clock icon) is now red and available at the top left corner of the map.
- You can now sleep in your room at any time of the day to advance days.
- Removed requirements for scenes to be unlocked in the story before they become available in sandbox mode. Now, all scenes in the sandbox mode are available as soon as you have access to that mode, even if you haven't unlocked them in the story. However, some scenes still require a certain amount of stats to be accessed.
Note: This does not mean that all story scenes are available in sandbox mode. Many scenes are exclusive to story mode, just as some scenes are exclusive to sandbox mode. Additionally, further updates will still be needed until sandbox mode has most of the story scenes, since this mode has been without updates for a long time.
- Revised every text available in the sandbox mode so far to make them end-game compatible. This was necessary because many characters had text adapted to the point in the story when their scenes were inserted into the sandbox. For example, in some scenes, Haley was still excessively shy, Adriana and Ava didn't live with MC, and many other things that needed to be re-adapted due to the long period of time the sandbox had been without updates.
- Added hearts in dialogues in all sandbox scenes. This feature was already available in story mode and in the gallery, and is now also available in sandbox mode.
- Added links to the inventory and stats page next to the existing map, phone, and schedule links on the sandbox footer to make it easier for mobile players to access them without the need to open the menu.
- Improved other items in the interface, such as the phone, icons, craracters' schedule, and other minor visual changes.
Story mode and general changes:
- Added a button to go home from the nightclub on day 41.
Note: Some players who couldn't get any of the nightclub scenes at the end of Day 41 only had the option of ending the day by drinking whiskey at the bar until they passed out. With the addition of the button, players can end the nightclub event at any time.
- Each achievement unlocked now grants some stat points or money as permanent bonuses. Since achievements are carried over to a new game, this will work as a New Game Plus (a feature highly requested by players). Example: If you earned two love points with a character for unlocking a particular achievement, those two points will be kept when you start a new game. This partly addresses players' desire for something similar to a New Game Plus and further encourages the unlocking of achievements.
- You can now check which upgrades your cars have when selecting them in your garage.
- Added a money icon to the inventory. You can now also check your money there.
- You can now also check the money on the cheats page (if you are a $7.50 or higher supporter).
- 15 more badass avatars added as reward to the Supreme Master tier.
Note: Since no one was using the commission avatar benefit, I decided to remove it from the tier rewards and add more avatars to compensate (I still accept suggestions for additional avatars from those who have already purchased this tier in the past).
- Fixed Reed's profile showing wrong stats.
- Fixed the "Back" button infinite loop bug in the guide.
- Fixed some typos and other text mistakes reported by players.

Note: The dates and situations in which jewelry can be given as a gift or used for some bargain have been adapted for this new version. If you encounter any events in the game that still use the old gifting pattern, please report them.
- Slightly changed the progression on Shalina's first scene at the casino on day 14.
- Jessika's first scene at the nightclub on day 15 was split into three separate scenes to organize it better and standardize it like other similar scenes.
- Changed Nina's massage sequence on day 22. Now you don't need to repeat the legs part, and the number of turns remains the same. This will make the scene a lot easier to get, and hopefully, stop all the messages and comments asking about the correct sequence. Note: Even if you can't figure it out, the tooltip will still give you a more advanced tip every time you fail until it reveals the complete solution, just like before.
- Added the ability to decline the threesome with Adriana and Megan on day 40, as well as Erica's race event if she calls you. This makes the "The One Above All" achievement much easier to obtain. Just refuse any of those events and take a nap in the car after checking your weapons in the garage before the sniper mission on day 40.
- Added a warning before some events and choices that have significant impacts on the story of several characters. More warnings may be added in the future, but for now, I've focused on events that can drastically change the story of some main characters.
- Now, when you get a car as a reward for something done in the story, the value of the car will be added to your funds if you already own that car. Example: If you already own the white car when you win the fighting tournament, you will be rewarded with its cash value instead ($15,000).
- Fixed a bug in the offline version that was preventing players from unlocking Megan/Adriana threesome on day 40 (the online version was fixed a few days after the release of the last version).

- Added the new achievements system. You can access the achievements menu in the sidebar above the gallery link. The achievement system is the last major feature to be added before the end of the main story.
Note1: Achievements will work like the gallery. Once you unlock an achievement, it will remain unlocked even after you restart the game. Please note that if your browser cache is cleared for any reason, you will lose the unlocked achievements, just as happens with the gallery.
Note2: The achievement system has been a feature planned since the first versions of the game, but I waited for the game to reach a sufficiently advanced point in the story for them to make sense. It's a feature that fits perfectly with the game's multi-playthrough style, and I hope this encourages players to try new playthroughs and routes.
Note3: Some achievements can be unlocked by loading your saves, but most of them will only be possible after starting a new game since the code is spread across different points in the game.
Note4: Unlike most games that contain this feature, in Back to Freedom, you will have some kind of reward for each achievement unlocked. Sometimes, you'll have interesting stories related to the type of achievement, the development of the game, personal stories of this developer, or the girls present in the game. While achievements are not required to enjoy the game, the goal is to reward the most dedicated players in some way.
- Added 59 achievements to the game (more to come in the future).
- Added a new cheat code available to $20 supporters and higher to unlock every achievement.
- Modified the beginning of two Adriana scenes on days 3 and 7 with new clips and dialogue to adjust to a related achievement.
- Added profiles for all side characters in the gallery. Just like the main character's profiles since the last version, the side character's profiles are dynamic and are updated as you progress through the story, giving you more information about them and how you interacted with them and shaped their stories. You can also check when those characters are pregnant. In "Others" gallery, hover over their names (or tap it if you're on mobile) and the new profiles will be shown.
- Added links to shoot the enemy's body parts to all shootout minigames. Before this change, you only had the option to shoot legs via a normal link.
Note: Note: While on PC, the scope cursor and the large screen make the minigame experience enjoyable, on mobile, touching small parts of the image with your fingers may not be as simple. That's why I added links as an alternative way to shoot down targets. Now, players can choose the way that suits them best.
- Made minor adjustments to texts in the stats screen and in the gallery. Also, changed the way the hearts in the dialogues are shown. These changes aim for the best possible visualization on mobile.
- Removed the previous default route for air ducts. Now, the only possible route is the one that reveals Mr. Willis' secret.
- Added a note to the tooltips for air ducts and Nina's massage so that players can better understand how those tooltips work.
- Added a link to a FAQ next to the changelog link on the left sidebar. The FAQ is intended to provide some basic information about features and certain parts of the game. I hope that will prevent new players from flooding the forums and Discord with the same questions every time an update is released.

- Corruption stat is now capped at 300.
Note: Since the maximum obtainable value of each stat will never exceed 99 until the end of the game, there is no reason to let players edit their stats to 4 or even 5-digit numbers, polluting the game's interface. Now, every time your stat exceeds 99, the game will set it to 99. This is a purely aesthetic change since numbers higher than this do not benefit the player in any way and only serve to ruin the positioning of some pictures in the stats window. The corruption stat is the exception and will be capped at 300.
- Completely redone the main characters' profiles. Now, instead of brief information about characters, you will have updates as you progress through the story, giving a summary of what happened to each of the characters up to the most recent point in the game. To avoid cluttering the interface, I made it so that the information is only displayed when you hover over the characters' images.
- Added heart icons to dialogues during scenes from days 1 to 29. Now the icons are available in all story mode scenes, plus the gallery.
- Slightly changed the hover effect of most links.
- Removed the requirement to make Jillian climax three times on day 12 to access one of her scenes on day 13. Now you only need to have unlocked one of her scenes on days 11 or 12.
Note: The other requirements remain the same.
- Changed the autowin feature for some minigames in the cheats page to instantly finish them after using the cheat. Before this change, players had to wait for timed minigames like shooting and dancing to finish even after using the cheat. Please report if you find any bugs when using the autowin cheat.
Note: As warned on the cheats page, DON'T use auto-win cheats at any point in the game other than during the corresponding minigame or right after its end.
- Fixed a bug in the casino on day 14 that would sometimes prevent players from proceeding after being taken to Shalina's office.

- Made massive changes in variables to make the code cleaner. Over 1300 variables were eliminated.
Note: As was widely reported before launch, these changes may affect old saves made in the middle of the day. It is highly recommended that you only load old saves made during the MC's sleep or right after he wakes up in story mode. From day 37, saves can be made at any point of the day and loaded without issues. Also, if you are starting a new game, you can save and load at any point as usual.
Note2: Since this change modified variables in almost every part of the game, there may be some bugs. Please report any bugs you find.
- Replaced the timed macro while typing during work with a video.
- Fixed a bug with the scope cursor during some sniper quests.
- Made some quality-of-life changes in the sandbox mode:
* The navigation system is now based on maps instead of image links. There's a map for the city and another one for the house.
* On the map, in addition to navigating to any place in the game easily, there's also a clock icon to advance time at any moment.
* You no longer have to pay weekly bills.
* Replaced most of the timed events with instant versions of the same events like bathing, watching movies, reading books, and others.
* Moved the phone and schedule links from the left sidebar to the main screen on the sandbox mode. This will leave the sidebar cleaner and make it easier for players to access the sandbox-only features when they really need it.
Note: Although there are no new content additions to the sandbox mode, I hope these changes will make this mode smoother for players who enjoy it.

Note: Some free players have complained that some stat requirements are too high. While all of the game’s requirements are achievable for free players, I understand that it can be frustrating to miss out on certain routes because of a few bad choices. So I've chosen to give everyone a free cheat option instead of lowering the requirements. Hopefully, this will make the beginning of the game smoother for some players without diminishing the importance of supporter-exclusive cheats, which allow them to freely increase or decrease their stats at any point in the game and choose the route that suits them best.
- Added a Corruption Guide to the official game guide for supporters.
Note: This is a long-requested feature from supporters that I finally had time to implement. Since I've added a quality-of-life improvement for free players (free cheat) it's only fair that my supporters get an improvement of equal value. Hope everyone will be happy.

- Changed the design of the in-game Guide. Now you have image links leading to individual pages, just like in the gallery.

Note: If you load an old save, you won't see any images in your dialog box, since the variable that defines the avatar is a new feature. To fix this, just open the options menu and choose your avatar.
- Replaced some old images with new ones like Joseph, Junior, the security team, the main gun, working out at the gym, and a few more.
- Changes were made on days 18, 29, and 31 to eliminate a possible inconsistency in Emily's story in case you chose Rachel's route on day 18.
- Fixed the new progressive hint system in the ventilation ducts route on day 18. Also, the alternate route to Willis's secret was slightly changed.
- Fixed a bug preventing some players from continuing after Jillian's office scene on day 12.
- Fixed a few minor bugs and also some typos and grammar errors reported by players.

Note: This work started many versions ago, but I stopped because of the lack of time. If you find grammar errors and spelling mistakes on any in-game day, please report them.
- Improved the code for some parts of the game that grants stats from days 1 to 9 to standardize them like the rest of the game.

- The main characters' interactive scenes now generate a love point and a lust point whenever you manage to make them climax three times. Note: All interactive scenes in the story have been adapted to this new mechanic (except side characters' scenes since they don't have stats). Note2: You will see the stat gain notification during the third climax, but stat points will be granted only at the end of the scene.
- Rebalanced the number of climax points granted in each position of interactive scenes to make it easier to reach three climaxes and take advantage of the new mechanic.
- Added stats points in interactive scenes that weren't granting them before.
- Revised and improved texts on all interactive scenes from days 1 to 24 to bring them to the same quality standard as the most recent ones. Note: Some were heavily changed, while others had minor changes since they were good enough.

Note 1: The sandbox mode has been requested by many players for some time now. The goal is to give players something more to do between updates. However, keep in mind that the sandbox mode is not and will never become the main focus of the game (at least not until the end of the main story). Even so, this mode will have many additions over the course of updates. For now, we only have scenes already present in the story mode (not all of them yet) with the necessary text adaptations and some changes in some events. But the idea is to have many exclusive scenes and characters in this mode.
Note 2: The sandbox mode is not like a sandbox-exclusive game, where there is usually a grind of many stats to advance in events. Instead, I chose to let the player replay events already unlocked in story mode. Think of sandbox mode as a much more interactive gallery, where you can replay whole events and not just the resulting scene from them.
Note 3: Money, stats, items, and cars will be shared between the two modes. However, you will not be able to increase stats in sandbox mode (not without using cheats), but you will be able to earn and spend money and items in sandbox mode. You can make money in some ways, such as betting at the casino on weekends at night, participating in Megan's show, and working. Unlike the story mode, the amount of money earned will be proportional to how much you worked throughout the week. You can work twice a day on weekdays. Each time you do this, you'll earn $100. Money earned from work can be collected at the end of the working day. If you don't collect the money, you won't lose it, and you can accumulate as many days as you want before collecting it (as long as you don't leave the sandbox mode - once you leave, non-collected money is gone).
Note 4: Just like in story mode, every Friday you will have to pay the weekly bills. The total to be paid per week is $620. Keep in mind that you will not be able to continue in sandbox mode until you pay the weekly bills. Remember to save money for that.
Note 5: The gallery will not be available in sandbox mode, as too many variables are shared and this could cause bugs. Also, whenever you enter sandbox mode, you will start in front of your house on Monday morning. When you exit sandbox mode (link available only in front of your house), you will return to story mode exactly where you left off before entering sandbox mode.
Note 6: This is just the first version of the sandbox mode and I ask you all to be patient since this may have some bugs (please report all you find). Also, I know there is still a lot to improve and add like new locations, characters' homes, more events, and much more. Constructive feedback is welcome.
- Added an Autowin button in every fighting minigame after losing the same fight three times. The same mechanic is already present in the dancing and shooting minigames.
Note 1: In the semifinals of the tournament, you can only auto-win the minigame with more than 85% life to unlock Lyia's scene if you are NOT tired. Otherwise, you will still have the auto-win button, but with life below 85%.
Note 2: In the tournament final, you can only auto-win the minigame and get the car as a prize if you are NOT tired since this fight is not meant to be won if you are tired.
- Added a few missing tooltips reported by players.

- Changed the beach event with Gina on day 20 so that Erica can show up if you're using any car available in the car store. Prior to this change, Erica would only show up if you were using the most expensive car. You still need a buyable car and do well on her quiz to be invited to races in the future.
Note: The idea behind this change, as well as the fight tournament prize car in the last update, is to provide players who don't have access to money cheat a way to participate in Erica's race events in the future.

- To counterbalance this change, most of the fights were rebalanced to make it slightly easier.
- From this version onwards, some important corruption and non-corruption routes will be exclusive according to corruption levels. For example, in a specific event in the current version, if you have a certain amount of corruption points, you'll only be able to choose the corruption route. If you have fewer than needed corruption points, you will only be able to choose the non-corruption route.
Note 1: My goal from the beginning was to make the players not feel like they have a better route to take. Almost every route has both good and bad consequences. Most stat-affecting decisions (including corruption) will continue to be freely chosen. This is necessary to build up stats. But the idea is that some important decisions are stat-exclusive. Until now, the player who invested in the corruption route had a clear advantage because he could choose both the corruption route and the non-corruption route, while the player who invested in the non-corruption route only had the non-corruption route available. This change is to try to balance corruption and non-corruption routes. And this will become more evident in the future.
Note 2: Modified an important Nina event decision from the last version to reflect this change. Your saves won't be affected, but if you play the event again, you'll notice that only one route will be available according to your corruption when you choose to approach her.
- Fixed a bug that prevented the game from remembering some player decisions, blocking some options in the gallery after restarting the game. For example, when you get home early on the first day, you get Angela's full scene as a reward. However, when restarting the game to try other routes, the gallery couldn't remember this decision, and consequently, the scene was incomplete when trying to revisit it.

4 - Why doesn't the game have sounds in scenes?
One of the game's features is the descriptive text of what happens in each clip to make the story as immersive as possible. Therefore, the original sounds were removed to avoid inconsistency with the texts.
5 - Why did I lose my saves, gallery, or achievements?
The game stores data about saves, gallery, and achievements in your browser's cache. When the cache is cleared either manually or automatically from time to time, or by system cleaner apps, or when you use the browser in incognito mode, you will lose your saves, just like your gallery and achievements progress. To avoid losing your saved games, I recommend using the "Save to Disk" feature whenever possible. This creates a file on your device that preserves your save even if your cache is cleared. However, keep in mind that your gallery and achievements may still be lost when starting a new playthrough, even after restarting from a local save with everything unlocked. This happens because when starting a new playthrough, the game looks for gallery and achievements data in the browser's cache. So, it's not uncommon after clearing the cache that the data is preserved when you load a save (if you used "Save to Disk"), but it's lost after restarting a game from scratch. Some people think this is a bug, but it's how the browser works. To avoid this, it's recommended not to use incognito mode and to uncheck the game from the list when clearing your cache.

No. One of the game's main features is that choices are relevant and impact the story. So you will have to make many difficult choices throughout the story and deal with the consequences that will inevitably block content from the routes you did not choose.
8 - I don't like characters X, Y, or Z. Can I avoid a girl completely?
Some yes, some no. The main characters (those who have their own gallery and are not in the "others" gallery) cannot be avoided forever, although you can choose routes that minimize the content seen with that character. As for the side characters, you can avoid the overwhelming majority of them completely. Of course, this will depend on your choices.
9 - Can I unlock content I couldn't get in the story in sandbox mode?
Until version 0.38, it was impossible to view content in the sandbox that had not been previously unlocked in the story. This changed starting in version 0.39. The sandbox story is now a combination of as many story routes as possible, making this mode the ultimate harem mode. Therefore, this mode will ignore most of the choices the player made in the story to give access to as many scenes as possible. Example (Spoiler): Even if you didn't win Angela back in the story, the sandbox mode will consider that you did, and you will have all the girls living with you, including Adriana, even if you chose her corruption route. Likewise, you will have access to scenes from both the corruption and non-corruption routes of all characters who have this choice available in story mode.
Note: Just keep in mind that not every scene of the story mode is available in the sandbox mode, but I will keep add them with each new sandbox update.
In this mode, you can move around freely, work and make money, take girls on dates, and replay events and scenes from those events (all of them adapted to be repeatable).
The goal of the sandbox mode is to continue the story as an endgame feature. I have a lot of unique scenes and characters planned for this mode.

Great game, they should improve the love or lust system, because when you get to the moment that matters, you miss "scenes".
 
I like the fact that the decisions you make can have lasting impacts, but it is frustrating when you read on day 30 "You may have see something differnt if you chose something else on day 15"...
The plus side is its own downside : it is very dense, which. makes it enjoyable ; but replaying is a daunting task given the size of the game...
 
I'd have to agree with some fellow players... Replaying it to get 'everything' is a big setback... nontheless is still one game I enjoy even with 'real porn' in it. The story is fun and the corruption elements are fun to try
 
One of the better HTML games. And I really like the idea of disabling sandbox mode.
 
I like that there is way more to the story than just banging your family. There is adventure, naughty tutoring, spying, investigating, bonding. Overall this is a very well put together game. I love the two choices for the daughters.
