It's an easy add-on to put on the site. As long as it doesn't conflict with any other mods we have, it should be added here.

yes, it saves a lot of work (for the admins / mods)

Question though how do you define double posting?

Is it someone quoting each reply separately or is different posts with the same member?

That is a slippery slope and letting a program or A.I decide that is a double edge sword.

Anyway I'm guilty sometimes as you can't quote multiple replies after you post a reply. 🤷‍♂️

same user posting twice in the same thread within a set time limit without someone else posting in between

example look below

Yes, I reviewed the code for it a while back. It does the merging while the post is still drafting, which means it doesn't have the performance impact of a normal merge.

In our megathreads, a merge causes issues, because it checks every post for references to fix them automatically. With auto-merge, it merges in to the previous, so there's no updating. It's great!

Well after dealing with the off-topic lurker thread I'm all or it now,

As you can't insert multiple quotes after you post a comment with edit post.

Good to see it's working as intended though it does need some tweaking for certain threads were only the thread creator comments.
