I have not played any of the mentioned games. If you could choose one to recommend, what would it be?

I'd recommend all of them, but I'd have to go with Chasing Sunsets. The writing is really good, although I can say that for all of the list.
 
I prefer game where the dev has his heart and soul in the story first... a dev can be the best render slut ever... if the story sucks that doesn't matter.

Going to second Eternum, Once in a Lifetime, and Harem Hotel. Might as well add Mist to that list.
Don't think I've played the other ones, so I guess I have to check them out!

Don't think I've played the other ones, so I guess I have to check them out!
Desert Stalker has some darker themes to it, so if that's not your cup of tea feel free to avoid it. The other two are much more wholesome.
 
Hard to Love, it has so much detail and art in it.
 
The Blackheart games feels pretty cared for by the creator
