discussion Animated or not?

Of course having some animations in a game is better, but if that makes the waiting time much longer and the anims ain't even that good then I'd rather have none or only for scenes that are important. Like a first penetration.

animated is nice, but not 100% necessary to me. most vn's i read use frames to make it appear they are moving. one that has really good animations though is Tribulations of a Mage by Talothral.

Depends on the Animations, sometimes they end up so stiff and lifeless that it distracts from the imagery rather than add to it.
While I do prefer animation, I rather it not just be put in because a dev thought it was necessary without the proper care to see its done correctly.

As others have said, animations are pretty much a must for me. Also prefer sound effects, but that's not a deal breaker.

Animated is just better. It never takes away from a scene to be animated, only adds.

Doesn't make much of a difference to me but I'm not really a fan of the AI animation some games like a wife and mother are including now.

Nowadays I believe that game should have AT LEAST SOME animations. We are no longer in 2017

I like animated scenes, but I prefer a game with only still images over a game with bad animations.

I like animation. But quality is also an important factor I consider.

But thee are some non animated games that are really good, good stories and the scenes are well made.

Animation always enhances a game, but it's not a must, stills can be hot too id they are done well.

animations feel more inclusive more then just the images changing every so often but i still enjoy games that don't have animated scene in them

I always get disapointed when a game has beautiful renders but no animation, it really is a must for me.
