Some abandoned games are still playable and have good content.
Stormside, Alvein and Deviant Anomalies were SO good. Too sad there aren't gonna continue. (Even if Deviant Anomalies didn't have much content)
The one hurt me the most was Covenant of Morn. MIST is my favourite game and I really wanted so see what will be that dev making. Not thrilled by his new short bdsm game.

Well, If the game is well developed and wasn't abandoned after a few months, I might try it.

In my experience most abandoned games aren't worth playing. No matter how many abandoned games I've tried, I've only liked a couple out of dozens

Only if the game is good like for example: Alvein

I have given above two examples of successful, but alas, abandoned games for various reasons. But in general, I adhere to a simple rule - if the game is abandoned at an early stage of development (after 2-5 updates), then it is pointless to waste time on them. Do not disturb the ashes of the deceased.

i lowkey dont have any recommendations due to my aversion to them but if an abanoned game is like highly appraised then i would play it but most abandoned game are buns anyway, and i get this sinking feeling that even if i do like the game its never going to be finished so i wont start it

I will play them if they have enough content, but some games like PGI-257 have the abandoned tag but are still being developed, it only has it because of the length since the last update

Depending on how long into the story the game have gotten and the reviews I might try playing them, but it's always a letdown when you then find something good, knowing that it will newer be finished...
Here are a few recommendations:
Stormside [Atemsiel]
Evermore [Prometheus]
My Happy Family [SayWhatProdutions] (NTR)

There are some good ones. But lately I've started filtering them out when I'm looking for new games.

I'll most likely skip it but some i do give a chance. If they have great visuals and maybe i can see a few comments saying that it is worth a try anyway, or that a lot of people says it's so sad the dev is gone, as then it must have been a good game up until then. Really depends

I generally skip them but occasionally I may at least try till the end. Especially if i had tried a earlier version.

Well, first of all I'll do a bit more research to see if it really is abandoned. If it is, I'll just go ahead and play it, treating it as if it's Complete.

Depends on how far into development the game got. If it got pretty far, then sometimes the content can justify. Otherwise, not really.

It depends on how much content is in the game. Lots of games that ended up abandoned that have more content than the games coming out.
