I dunno if it's getting worse, maybe more annoying since people use smartphones but even before you either had people that knew about computers or had massive problems understanding basic things like the file system
3d games are probably the worst, I can understand wanting the freedom of a 3d world but all I see is a combination of bad combat, terrible performance, rough controls/movement and sometimes terrible graphics caused by AA or effects

If it's a series I really like or online I rather play it on release otherwise it just goes on my backlog and I consider it when I feel like playing that game
during the ps1/2 days I loved playing with a walkthrough but now it's the opposite and I rather play blind and maybe check a guide after I'm almost finished with the game
