Imo good stories enhances game with good graphics and vice versa. But i cant enjoy a game with shit graphics even if it has a 'good' story, its all relative though.
I think its because avn's have become more popular in the last few years, more games than ever are being put out and abandoned after like 2 or 3 releases and bury any good games. And the more games being made, the less money in the whole supporter ecosystem, less incentive for good dev's to keep...
For me it's either sandboxes or having to walk hours in some rpgm game just to see 2 cg's. Also the ones where you have to move your mouse through a maze since my mouse it too sh*t and my hands too shaky.

Games that have grinding aren't necessarily bad (most normal games are some form of grinding) but its hard to make it compelling when the dev is usually using renpy or god forbid...
