Do you change the MC's name and to what?
Yeah, I have a regular default I use for my MC's name (it's not my own, but it's one I wish I'd been named). I also have 2 or 3 others I like to use if the facial look of the MC fits them better. I almost always install Universal RenPy Mod, to browse the inbuilt character names and check for... -

This is such a great smol VN. The story has real potential. I hugely enjoyed v01 and (very) patiently look forward to the next update - whenever it happens. -
Do ratings affect whether you download a game?
If I spot something shiny and new in the game updates list, I will curb my enthusiasm if I see 2 stars or less. If the reviews also sum it up as awful, I'm unlikely to DL. The only exception would be if the game catered to a niche fetish and the ratings were by the majority who didn't dig that...- RedTop88

What is more important.. story or mindless sex ?
My favourite AVNs always have a good balance of both (e.g. Ravenous, The Assistant, Libido Enigma, etc). I would lean towards story being slightly more important for me, but if the LIs and scenes are good enough, I can put up with crappy writing.- RedTop88

What's your take on incest games that have a side girl as the first sex scene?
Personally, I'm fine with it. An earlier poster used the metaphor 'stepping stone' - which feels about right. The early version game reviews would be poor if no H scenes were available during the gradual path to incest fun.- RedTop88
