    I think there's a catch-22 going on - Devs (often with a very good start to games) are struggling to get financial backing from supporters, but potential supporters (us) are fed up of committing to games for them to get abandoned more often than not and so want to see proper progress/commitment...

    Graphics man, they're so key now. Didn't use to be the case but some games have just gone to a whole new level and it makes it difficult to want to play the lower quality stuff, even if they have a great story etc

    Yes but less so these days. i've noticed some of my favourite games have very average ratings and I've realised it's because some people downvote because they don't like an NTR part of the game or something, rather than judging the actual game quality.
