    When playing, I want the ability to romance/corrupt any one and everyone I meet. Ugly characters are often code for, not in the LI path while beautiful characters are. I would prefer to see more variety, but I expect that the tools used to make these games are not well suited to make average people.

    This is it exactly. It is a short cut in a visual medium that makes no sense when someone is doing it randomly in real life. Can work in adult games with 3D renders, but I would never expect to see it in an animation either.
