You must have had a few terrible lazy cats then. As mine always wanted to play or cuddle.

Though yeah nothing can beat a dog if your looking for a companion.

Sadly I'm a lazy person and hate walking the dog three or more times a day.

I am a cat Person, I wish I could share photos of my cat, but I shared her before online, and don't want to be tracked in that way. Just know she is the sweetest Calico who demands that I keep my bathroom door open. I haven't been able to go alone ever since I got her 5 years ago. Both animal types are soothing to their humans. (But I would like to get an exotic cat some day. not a Tiger tho, That became a Netflix show and I do not want attention like that.)

A lot of people seem to have never actually had a cat. I used to think the same things until I raised an abandoned kitten. They make great companions and do appreciate humans.

I'm more of a cat person because i had some good cats that actually showed care and attention while on the other side of the coin i had some troublesome dogs that either disliked me or were at most self centered with quirks that gave me headaches. Plus where i live people often don't know how to handle their dogs so from time to time you get confronted by a dog without leash acting agressive, plus the constant annoyance of walking through short sidewalks and getting barked by dogs through the gates worse yet when the gate is the bar type so the cretin can shove it's head through to try to bite you

I’m personally team dog. Dogs are loyal, unlike cats, who act like landlords collecting emotional rent.

If you die, dogs will probably refuse to eat you. Cats? They’d start considering you a snack within a day.

Actually kinda difficult to say cause i have a cat and a dog, but the dog (finnish spitz) i use for hunting, and the cat is lazy..

Like both but cats. Cats are pretty self sufficient. A dog is total high maintenance. Cant leave them home alone for too long. Cats as long as they have food, they're good. If they run out they can go hunt for dinner LOL I dont do litter box, shit outside. Cats take care of their shits, off out of the way and then bury it. Dogs? Nope, all over the yard, constantly scooping poop. And dogs drool, cats rule

Dogs are slaves. Cats are individuals. A dog will love its owner even if the owner hits it. A cat, on the other hand, may never love you, even if you feed it its whole life and take great care of it. I appreciate the fact that they love and bond in a more consensual way. Your cat chooses you, you choose your dog.


And above all, they're so cute it's outrageous, i think they may well constitute most of the beauty in the universe.

Do people like watching cats because of neoteny? I doubt it, because adult cats don’t look at all like babies.


But then why do we have this odd fascination with every ordinary action of a cat and treating them as instances of a Platonic Cat?


I speculate that there may be an evolutionary psychology reason: cats in Africa prey on primates to a degree I suspect few people appreciate, and this seems to have been true for millions of years, making them our apex predator.


So perhaps we are still slightly hardwired to closely observe cats, in a way we aren’t for most other potential pets—cats still remember when they ate us, and so do we. This accounts for the indefinable appeal of cats: they are paradoxically both pleasant and unpleasant, like horror movies.

It's possible that we're fascinated by cats because they subconsciously scare us

I love both, but I only had cats as pets for my whole life. Currently own a ragdoll and nebelung, both of my girls are very affectionate . I just recently moved to a new apartment, and I could get a pup now
