Well most devs are devs in the first place because they are too sick to keep a full time regular day job (or are past retirement age). Some are just worse off than others health wise.

It was back when I still used Patreon and SS and had prob 50 AVN subs between the two 7-8 years ago and I suspect it hasn't changed much. Sure you also have a few like Inceton with 20 or so day job employees that make a full blown AVN studio and go all-in rather than just a solo dev but those are rare, the vast majority of AVNs are not made that way. When that much money is invested (prob in the $1m ballpark) setting that up they just make mainstrean Unity or Unreal rpg games or similar and sell them on Steam, prob far more money when there are no porn restrictions.

Sad that the author has passed away. Hope this game remains on this site even though it is abandoned. This is a game that can be played again and again.

It should definitely be kept around if for nothing else but in remembrance of a very talented writer. Maybe not the most original story, but he was funny and actually understood what grammar is. The wide variety of really cute girls that had actual developing personalities were top notch too. Christine's character arc in particular is one of the best in any AVN in my opinion. Naughty little devil that she is. Haley's is pretty good too. The dynamic between MC, Haley and the wife and sister is fantastic. There is a lot of content to be had even though the last time he posted to SS or Patreon was nearly 2 years ago when he said he was falling behind on the next update due to his health issues. My guess is cancer, it usually is for someone in his age range, assuming of course that the MC was modeled somewhat after himself.

Some one mentioned a passing of the torch...could be a great idea if the right person took it. An insult if not I guess. I can't imagine any of his original models ever being released if they even exist anymore, though. The last thing I'd ever want to see is some jackhole remaking them all with ridiculous proportions and carbon copy dumb slut personalities while turning it into a never ending cash grab.

Whatever comes of it, even if it's nothing, it is still very much worth downloading and killing a few hours. It's a well written, mostly light hearted and humorous sex romp with hot women that range from barely legal to MILF to cougar.

I was afk from Visual novels for a while, and wanted to know if there where any updates to this one.
It had its quirks, but it made me laugh quite often, and I liked (most of) the characters.
Sad to hear this news.

Finally played the exalted Midlife Crisis. My heart is now broken that this was abandoned. The story was incredibly out there, insanely unrealistic and well, pretty much everything a midlife married man like myself ever dreams of. The loss of the genius mind that put words and pictures to so many of our unmentioned fantasies is one I cannot take lightly. Thank you kind soul for your contributions and cheers to a much better place for you.

One of my favorite games. It's probably my first, or at least one of my first. It's a little dated and some of the characters aren't very attractive, but the story (although unrealistic) completely captivated me.

This game is what made me a gooner.

Its interesting this one hasn't got a remake since Big Brother has about 286 remakes and the dev puts a parody of the Big Brother MC in this game. Almost like he knew it would need remaking or taking over at some point.

Big Brother has so many remakes because the original dev simply publicly released the .duf files when he quit, making the process far easier for those that want to have a go at a remake. Sadly most devs for whatever reason don't do that. The Our Island remake has to be done the hard way since 13 deleted all the files rather than released them to the public (and as a result things like the characters and settings barely resemble the old ones) and it's the same for this one and just about every other dead AVN.

Yep that's my guess as well given the last few updates about the dev's health.

Another game called Power Vacuum has me worried as well after that dev's updates as well.

Sure some might say nah it's just an excuse or something other but you never know.

Well, no notarized copy of his death certificate posted by his family or anything like that, but to most reasonable people it's almost as obvious.
