For now, mime and apollo have full control over LC and will be handling site decisions going forward. I’m stepping back from making site changes for now and letting them decide how to move LC forward. - Jack Of Blades

latest updates page (beta), READ. https://lewdcorner.com/threads/current-state-of-affairs.20090/

can you fix the site. or just copy paste Fuck95 ? they got everything smooth for some reason
Fix the site? Hop on dms and tell me what's wrong

So i just want to make sure, Ive clear cookies and site data and the latest content page is still not working. When sorted by latest updated the first is Dec 17th, then Aug 9th, Dec 19th, Dec 20th, Nov 14th across the top with similar mixed up dates down the page. Seems like newer-ish games but still not sorting by latest updated for me. Is this still a site wide problem or is there a fix that I haven't figured out yet. Thanks for any help.

It looks nice. Finding Search took a bit time. But now I know where it is....

What does "Newest Upload" supposedly sort with?

As an example, Word of Mouth, which had a new update within the past few days along with new download links and shows up on the first row of the "Latest Updated" filter, doesn't show after scrolling through pages and pages of the "Newest Upload" filter. It shows up when you use it with the search function, meaning that it does show up in the list, but much later.

Is this filter based on thread creation? The game's thread was made in 2023, which definitely won't show up within the first many scrolls through a list based on thread creation. If that's the case, maybe "Thread Created" might be a be a more properly descriptive label for the filter.

Right now Apollo is making new LU page, this one will be replaced. Clarification on the filters:
"Newest Upload" - your standard "new". Both freshly uploaded and updated games. If game was released in 2002 without further development but was uploaded to LC today it will show at the top.
"Latest Updated" - takes only latest update date into account. Old games won't show. Old games that got a fresh update will show. Brand new games will show.

Why the split? Well, simply said you guys are never happy. If we choose one over the other people scream "it doesn't work as intended!" - it does, you just want it to be different. Some people don't even understand this concept at all and claim that game sorts by latest comment which is bullshit, but after comparing, showing screenshots and explaining it to people only to achieve nothing I started to ignore these comments, sadly neither me or Apollo can't fix stupid.

So yeah, both filters don't work correctly right now and they won't be fixed on this version of LU.

Does this mean that, once they work correctly, "Newest Upload" should be the one that sorts like F95's Latest Updates page or, at the very least, what used to be this site's fallback Latest Updates page?

It means exactly what I said it means.

Yes

Just found this, not sure if the thread itself is broken or the last updates page doesn't update when a thread it deleted.

When opening the thread for "The Bodyguard - Wasteland" on the last updates page the thread doesn't open and you get the following message.

Same issue with "Turqu chan in the Hentai Laboratory" (which some how popped up between "Tsuushinbo Another Story Disc ~Hitori de Dekiru mon!, Himitsu no Yoshuu~" and "Slave Hunter" when looking at that image above, and my live latest updates page if that image was taken with defaults) and "Slave Hunter". I was thinking it was a permissions issue, but seems more likely to be a caching issue if extra things are popping in.

Edit: Looking closer, that image from @Oakbender is missing quite a few games. I am wondering if some tags were excluded when that image was taken?

I have "Male-Protagonist" in my tag filters probably that.

sorting by update still broken ?
I think the only thing that should be broken with sorting by update is threads being bumped when the main post is getting edited.

I think the biggest problem Ive seen so far is caused by three things. 1: People hate change. 2: People see someone say "we are fixing things and everything is in a state of flux, let us know if its completely broken" and think they said "Hey its all finished and working 100%, so nothing can ever go wrong" and then go all keyboard warrior about it not being finished. 3: Staff is possibly tired, overworked, underpaid and treated worse than retail workers by some people, and are fed up with answering the same question 6 posts in a row.

That being said, I do have to say that its looking better(functionally, visually im conflicted, but thats preference not function) for the most part, with some minor issues that Ive seen, but Ill wait a bit to complain about anything to see if things change when new updates roll out for the features. But Damn, good work otherwise. Good job to Apollo and anyone else working on it.

On a side note, Staff: If you could set up a separate page that is all the old broken system, that doesnt function, or work or anything, but is still the old system. Then anyone who mentions the old one was better or not broken or less hassle, you just give them the link and let them stew in the best (worst) LU page they wanted. Might shush some of them. lol.

I can confirm I am underpaid and tired of answering same question 6 times, especially when someone asks right below my post that answers their question. I don't think we will restore anything "old and broke", you have that for LU page right now, a new one is in development.

Also while we are on the topic, I encourage everyone to give some feedback regarding the new LU page:

I'm not a huge fan of the new LU page. It would be nice to see the images and tags at the same time. Tags appearing below the image. Also it would be nice if the tags were in alphabetical order and all visible on hover. I appreciate all the work being done. Good luck on the work.

All of that is already functional on the new LU page.

I guess we are using different latest update pages since that is not the case for me.

Yes, you are, the new one is not implemented yet.
