For now, mime and apollo have full control over LC and will be handling site decisions going forward. I’m stepping back from making site changes for now and letting them decide how to move LC forward. - Jack Of Blades

We can't use old themes on new xenforo version, they are not compatible.
The Xenforo upgrade was days ago. The old themes were working just fine since then up until a few hours ago, when the site started strobing between random variations of red and purple, random text sizes and various other display issues.

No they weren't working fine, they were usable but far from working right. It's better to use compatible theme and tweak it properly than to leave an old broken thing just because people got used to it.

Seems like time would be better spent just reproducing the functional and widely-used themes we already had, instead of creating from scratch a bunch of weird, ugly purple and red themes nobody asked for, which I'm sure takes a lot of time and testing - not that such testing seems to exist at the moment.

The priorities on display here are baffling, for some reason this "upgrade" is being done at breakneck speed, multiple changes all being implemented at once, with zero testing, on a live server (despite all assuarances to the contrary), rushing out an endless stream of designs and features and arbirary choices while everyone is screaming that the fundamentals aren't working right.

Case in point:

The themes were not created from scratch, they are available on xenforo forum. About the testing - how many times Apollo or Heisenberg has to come here and personally say stuff was tested? Every day someone comes and say "you were supposed to test things"... yeah, they were tested.

That the site went down repeatedly says that it wasnt tested well enough. The update should not have been done until everything could be moved forward or replaced and verified as working. The whys dont matter, the resulting worse site does.

Anyway the text should be fill the boxes and the tiny icons should be bigger. What are they for, ants?

If they were tested, how come most of the features almost immediately failed to work as intended? Why did we have a rollback yesterday that wiped out about 8 hours worth of posts? Doesn't sound like much of a test environment to me. Testing is also more than just functionality, there's whether something is accessible or usable.

For example, when you have a grid of images showing games you ideally don't have tags rendered completely invisible by being laid over an image that changes colour from one game to the next. If I have to hover the mouse over something to see the actual information about it, the system isn't usable (not that hovering actually reveals that info anyway). I don't have to push my wall clock with a finger to know the time, and I don't have to hover or click on my weather gadget to make the text readable either.

I find it baffling that these new designs seem to deliberately and willfully disregard everything from the old system, like there was nothing valid or viable about how information was displayed or laid out - y'know, the system everyone was happy with and had been using for years. What's wrong with taking something and building on it, instead of just starting again and then making all the same mistakes?

I lost all my ranks (39k AC worth) and around 3000 AC in the roll back, is there anyway to get this back? I'm back at square 1 cause of a rollback

If you have proof of it, make a support ticket

I mean this goes back to the usual thing for me that they're testing stuff on the production environment. I've seen at least 3-4 different themes of the past few days.

Make something functional for the main site then test your colour schemes and layout changes on the test site they've said exists. Once you've got something you like apply it to production and ask for feedback.

The constant change makes for a terrible user experience.

Just gonna throw this out there, as well. Kind of annoying having the notification bell thing no longer have the drop-down and stay on the same page, and instead open a new tab and bring you to a whole-ass separate notification page. And also doesn't get rid of the "new notification" icon on the bell until you refresh again, which is double annoying due to the previously mentioned issue with selected tag filters not being saved on refresh.

Definitely a lot of user experience downgrades here, in comparison to the previous LU page, as it stands now. I do hope these things get better, but I do have to echo the sentiment that this could have been at least partially alleviated by keeping the old page active while having the new page accessible to everyone as well, so people could test it and give their criticisms without being forced to have it as their only option, allowing the kinks to be worked out before it supplanted the old page for good.

Notification bell works perfectly fine? Are you maybe using the notification bell from the LU page instead of the forum one? That's the only explanation I have for your issues.

Am I the only one who can't access it?

No, we will be messing with it until everything gets fixed.

and the issue not fixed with the unread threads take you to page

Oops! We ran into some problems.

and that issue was there before the roll back and i send the admin 4 DM abut it but all get ignored.

as long the unread threads is highlighted it will take you to that page but we cant see the highlighted threads now with the new update but it will take you there.

Well, I'm messing around on LU, testing it's new features and these ones that I marked aren't working properly.
I've waited 30 min on each, but nothing loads when I try to filter by platform.

Just the any tag is working properly.

yeah, this and prefix filters aren't working correctly yet.

Both of you don't do development work and it shows.
Every single site uses external/3rd-party scripts or packages, not using them adds extra development time and just reinventing the wheel when majority of it is already tested and used by others.

Also this site is legit run by 3rd-party scripts.. all of the addons and themes

No one said you can't use 3rd-party scripts or packages. But it's a big difference how the scripts are provided to the user.
The number one reason why most big sites use external scripts and fonts extensively is probably to save bandwidth for themself.
But there is a reason why some external script providers are black listed in some ad-blockers, malware protectors etc. by default.
External providers add a lot of new failure points, extra bandwidth for the user (if a complete script package is loaded for a single function), security risks, since you can't control what the provider delivers, and it's always frustrating to guess which scripts are necessary and which not.
So I always prefer sites that don't rely on external scripts, like lewdcorner until now or f-9-5.

I'm not sure I understand the "new" tag on the Latest Content page, because if the page is named "latest", shouldn't that be ordered as newest at the top? Leaving the "new" tag uses up the engine tag and doesn't add any information to the user.

I am a fan of having the first tag be the engine, and maybe limit the shown tags shown on the visible row while viewing the Latest Content page to be "engine", "plus" and maybe "VN" or the art engine, or some other descriptor, and leave all the regular tags for the rollover view, and sort the rollover view alphabetically to allow knowing where each tag should be, rather than missing one when doing a quick scan, such as "sandbox" etc.

The current filtering mechanics also have an issue when the first tag is not the engine, as can be seen when looking at the Latest Content page with "any" engine selected vs "renpy" for example, as the game Olive Chat, which is renpy, but the first tag is "plus", and when sorting for renpy game engines, Olive Chat doesn't show up in that sort, and it looks like the engine sort, and maybe others, only hits off the main row of tags on the non-rollover display?
