Game Tags Are Getting Out of Hand

They should just make tags weighted. Even a basic 3 tier weight. Can be by color, or a icon..or just a bracketed number next to the tag.
High weight = lots
Medium weight = some
Low weight = few

No need to add more tags. Just add an option to adjust the weight and the tag will be displayed as for example
Vaginal (3)
Anal (2)
Watersports(1)

Yeah, but other people do. Descriptions are good for understanding what a game specifically involves, but most people at some point want to browse through, say, incest games specifically, and a long list of games where you just have to read the description to see if it's what you want or not would be miserable. F.95 for example has like 23000 games. ~3200 have the [Incest] tag. If I'm looking for some family lovin' trying to just read through that manually would be hell on Earth. If I were looking for something more niche than that? Say, gay BDSM incest? There'd basically be no point in trying.

And that's to say nothing of people who want to exclude things from the list while browsing (I have no interest in Japanese games, but that's well over 20% of F.95's library; being able to filter them out with a click is very convenient) or search for a specific game they can't remember the name of.
I suppose you're right. Being curious by nature, I like to lose myself in the crowd and discover new things.
But as you say, some people like to choose precisely.

I actually like that the tags arent the dominant trends of the game. I like a bit of variety and it sucks when a game has some quality content that, yeah might only be a scene or two but i'd still like to find it. But i get it, no just right porridge here.

The tagging system doesn't really allow any better way, unless one gets an extra "group tag" which would make it even more confusing.
BTW, a huge amount of NTR haters fled from F.95 to LC. but because the game threads on LC tend to be less active you don't see it here as much.
- can we send them back? Really... dont want to sound like those antimigrant people... but...🥸

That's an issue for every media. Look at manga sites, you have the same problem. A manga with 200+ chapters and because there is one or two pantyshots it gets the ecchi (lewd) tag.
And yes, it can be extremly annoying. Want a game with smols content? Here is a game with 20+ hyper boob women and one scene with a loli. Good luck finding the scene!

Sadly this can only be resoved by either having the uploders or mods doing a fuck ton of extra work (like adding that information into the game post itself after user reports) or by getting a new tagging mechansim that would allow major/minor/weighted tags, but that would bring chaos into the current system and even more work.
But either way, users would still constantly fight about some tags, like they are already doing right now.

True, but that's how it is for every other site too. Only stuff that's currently in the game gets a tag, which does make sense.

Do you use an adblocker that allow custom scripts like uBlock Origins?
I got this trick from someone on F.95.zone, it colorizes the tags. Here an example:
Code:
lewdcorner.com##a.tagItem:contains("ai cg"):style(background-color: DarkRed !important)
lewdcorner.com##a.tagItem:contains("ai cg"):style(color: Grey !important)
lewdcorner.com##.resource-tile_tags span:contains("ai cg"):style(background-color: DarkRed !important)
lewdcorner.com##.resource-tile_tags span:contains("ai cg"):style(color: Grey !important)
Replace the tag-name between the "" with what you want and the colors can also be hex colors, not just their names.

It looks like that:

I wasn't going to comment on any of this, but it didn't feel right to borrow this bit of code without thanking you for showing off a trick I never even came close to considering.

Interestingly, I touched this topic the other day, though not in this way and not here.

It's impossible to create a perfect tagging system because, essentially, it's tied to individual opinions. Should a game with only one avoidable footjob scene have the "foot fetish" tag? Should a game with only a flat-chested girl have the "loli" tag? How much content is needed to earn a tag? Or does it depend on whether the content is central or secondary?

Ultimately, Rule34 has both the best and worst system. Even for the smallest thing, they assign a tag; if there's a single pixel of a foot, they give it the "feet" tag. But at the same time, it's terrible for that very reason. If you're searching for something, you'll often find content completely unrelated to what you're looking for because of that pixel that someone decided should be a tag. The other reason it's bad is that they have TOO MANY tags, most of them very specific, and others completely irrelevant.

While I don't entirely agree with some of the tags used here, maintaining a fair and necessary number is better than having too many that only create confusion. After discussing it the other day, the only somewhat reasonable change to the tags would be to separate the Futa/Trans tag into Futanari, Transsexual, and Trap, because they are essentially three different things. And at most, the Flat Chest tag to avoid using the Loli tag outside of Games+, although as others have said, no one has complained about that either. It would be more... cosmetic? I couldn't say for sure, but it's to ensure that the Loli tag is used when the content is actually there and not just pretending to be. Something like incest, but in the game it's step-cest.

If someone wants to read music, they mostly learn the Italian used in notating it.

If someone wants to program, they mostly learn English to participate in the global community.

If someone wants to accurately tag their loli harem netori slice-of-life isekai "so I woke up in a world where my brother the demon lord stole my cock and now I have to steal my brother the demon lord's thirteen loli wives and rule the world to get it back", well, you better know some Japanese, buddy.

Thank you online porn sorting hikikomori, for everything you've done for all of us.

It would be nice to have seperated tags for each type of incest, but that would add so many new tags.
In theory it should be still managable, because most games would get at most 3 to 5 of those tags ([Mother], [Sister], [Aunt], [Daughter], [Niece]). But this would lengthen the tag list even more and thus even harder to scan for each tag whenever one looks at the tag list of a game.

They are already seperated. Well, at least they are supposed to be seperated, many games do still use the combined [Futa/Trans]-tag.

But for some strange reason LC also has this kind of definition.

Something like incest, but in the game it's step-cest.
Many Hentai sites use the [Inseki] tag (姻戚) for this, it's for Sex involving in-law, step, or adopted family relatives, so basically non-blood-related incest-like romance.
But even if that term is well established in that part of the porn community, it would be too confusing for many. That's why [Step-cest] should be a tag.

This could be nice if the front end collapsed tags. Have [Incest (mother)] and [Incest (sister)] and [Incest (daughter)] tags, but let the UI collapse them into [Incest (daughter) (mother) (sister)]

Then make it so filtering by Incest catches anything with any of them, but the more specific options in the drop-down only catch the individual tags.

Some of the boorus have "implies" tags, where tagging something with one tag will find things that imply that tag, even if it wasn't specifically marked.

They'd learn it pretty quick, especially if hovering over it had a little explanation for what it meant.

All of the hyper-specific porn categories are already defined in Japanese, and those terms are widespread due to the popularity of Japanese porn.

Just accept it and use their terminology for categories where it's useful.

Both points of view are valid, maybe a system with major tags and minor tags (for those with only 1 or 2 scenes) would be ideal.
I think that would be the best of both worlds scenario. Would still be up to the dev/poster to indicate which tags in which category, which some might not, but might help for people looking for specific content.
