I think crypto is pretty well tracked and regulated these days as well so you're not even really getting much from using it.One of the issues, I think, is that if games are difficult to aqcuire / embarrassing to buy, potential customers easily go for piracy.
Crypto is too difficult, and will convince most people to just pirate it.
I also think smol creators really need subscription based services to be viable, as pay once get once systems are doomed to fail due to piracy. But subscription doesn't work with crypto, as you can hardly set up automatic payments.
