A good part of the community using Mare is for ERP.

You can be harassed pretty easily depending on the city you go even without any mod, the game has a bad fame for that. Even if the rest of the game is absolutely great

Because FFXIV has been largely exempt from SqureEnix's tomfuckery in general. YoshiP has been able to insulate it from the company's larger dumbass ideas.

Dawntrail is probably the end of the game, but that's also what they said about Stormblood, and Shadowbringers brought the game back in a large way. Much like Stormblood, it's bad writing and bad acting. Wuk Lamat is a terrible character. The entire expansion is the literal savior of the universe playing therapist. I don't doubt the game can bounce back so long as the writing team pulls their head out of their ass, but unfortunately not every game can have a rabid fanbase like WoW.

I think the dev team shot themselves in the foot by concluding the Garlemald/Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc, because now the game's going to fall into the inevitable "content for the sake of content" expansion cycle. Everything from here on out is going to be self-contained and will likely be "what FF title are they parodying this time?" Stormblood had Doma Castle from FF6, Shadowbringers had Mt Gulg, dwarves, etc from FF1, Endwalker had Golbez and the Lunar monsters from FF4, Dawntrail with Alexandria from FF9...so long as they don't draw from FF13, I'll be happy.

I entirely agree, after Shadowbringers the game was one long slow downhill slide with content and quality slipping more and more each patch. I stopped my sub a patch and a half ago and can’t really see myself returning.
