I appreciate the answers. I'll have to give a think on this. I didn't know that was in the plans for PGI that I recall. Not sure how I feel about it. I'm not a fan of sharing or polycules. If I, the player, get to be the one who can give the go ahead before anything happens, then I don't mind it as much, and if it isn't a factor of "they all turn bi suddenly" (for stories with girls as the love interests), then it really depends on the characters involved. If the Mc makes the call on his own unilaterally, it causes a disconnect some times. If it a group of love interests that are mixed (girls and boys) then it becomes a very big deal for me, I wouldn't be cool with the possibility of one love interest impregnating another. And when love interests start catching feels for each other then I usually just think, "Well, ok, their a thing now, so I guess I'm superfluous." It's one of the reason I hate the troupe you see in a lot of game of the Mc meeting two lesbians and turning them both bi and banging them. I'm also not really a fan of Netori in general either though. I dislike the idea of breaking up or inserting the Mc into a happy thing or people who have a deep connection. If they aren't happy, or are breaking up anyway, or one of them is abusive then I can get behind it a little better. That's actually a good question. The MC is going to be the Uncle for sure, but in all of my work I do like to occasionally show other things going without the MCs involvement. PGI-257 is a great example of this where most of the time we see things from Frank's perspective, but the breakfast scene shows us the girls perspective which is very important to see.
There is a scene in Day 1 where we see it mostly from Ryan's perspective, but there is a very short perspective shift so that we're made aware of something that Ryan isn't. Then perspective shifts back, but the scene is suddenly much more enjoyable (at least for me) because of what we learned. I definitely don't intend to follow the path that 'Just One Week' took where there isn't really a main perspective we do stick with.
You have to be a pretty big bigot to get me to ignore you and since I'm seeing this message you are apparently not one? Or at least you haven't made that known to me
Then you might not be interested.. maybe? Every character does not like every character, but there are definitely a few characters that REALLY like certain other characters who aren't the Uncle and so those characters are going to want to do things together without the him present, but only after he's shown them it's okay to do things together and the safe way to do those things (there is ONE exception to this).
You mention PGI and this same thing is going to happen in EP2 once certain characters meet each other. Sparks will fly and Frank is going to get to enjoy watching one of his little girls discover her own attraction to one of his new daughters.
My characters are never there for the MCs amusement and they certainly don't sit around waiting on him. They all have their own dreams, desires and things going on. Most of the time the MC will be heavily involved in most sexual acts, but if he comes across two of his nephews playing with each other after he's helped them come together in an earlier scene then he may just decide to stay and watch. Or he might go find someone else who is feeling a little lonely at the moment. Again not every character is interested in every character so there will always be someone feeling left out and in need of affection.
Like I said, I'll give it a think and maybe give it some updates to see how it all plays out and is executed in story, and thanks again for taking the time to respond, and whatever I decide I wish you the best of luck.
PS: Just a random aside:
I once saw a game where a dev had a futa (I think ,could have been a femboy, but pretty sure it was a futa) in the harem and the dev had always said the futa wouldn't do anything with the girl without the Mc. Only in like threesomes then maybe the futa would fuck a girl in the ass while the Mc was in her pussy. That kind of thing (was already enough for me to opt out, but some people I knew played the game, how I heard about it) but only with the Mc there and with the Mc's approval. But the dev added a scene where the love interests got mad at the Mc about something stupid. And to get back at him, the dev had the futa fuck one of the girls, and not just that, but the girl was a virgin and the Futa took her virginity (which until that point the girl had been shy and saying she'd give it to the Mc soon, she was just still nervous and stuff) and when the Mc walked in and saw it they mocked him and told him he was a jerk and getting what he deserved but they might forgive him if he earned it kind of thing. The dev even had the futa knock up a girl (could have been that one or another, can't remember it was a long time ago). It was a crazy story and I heard the dev caught a lot of shit for doing those things.
That's just one story though where a dev added a mixed harem and then added stuff like that, and also not the only time stuff like that got added after a dev said they wouldn't add that kind of stuff in. None of this is targeting you or anything, just talking about stuff that came to my mind. I've always said, as long as devs as honest and upfront then I can respect it and even if it isn't for me, I won't mind, to each their own. But it really gets me when devs hide stuff, because it only works on people who have been there from earlier on and it jsut blindsides them. And once the dev does it, everyone knows and everyone will know going forward. So why not tell people right away? Why hide it, it will all come out eventually anyway. But anyway, I'm rambling, if you or anyone else reads this then cool, but if not, I jsut needed to get it out of mind or I'd be thinking about it all night,
