Be chatty -- if you see something of interest comment on it. You get many more AC in response to a post than you will expect - especially if it is funny and has some sort of image attached.
Get the P1 rank first, this includes the Members + with it and allows you to post and react without having to deal with the cool down timer. People DO check to see who reacts to their postings and tend to reward those who react in turn.
Be interesting - an interesting post is much more likely to get reactions than a low effort post.
Be helpful - often I will give people a reaction just because I can tell they are trying to help someone.
