Ghost of Tsushima. Gameplay wise and story wise. Just fun. Running around taking down enemies with your sword and bow.

Dug both for different reasons. Ghost was the love letter to my upbringing on old school samurai films. DS was a fedex simulator plus Kojima weirdness. Gotta check out DS 2 and see if the other elements have truly been improved.

Definitely would second a Witcher 3 nomination. Lot of bang for your buck in regards to open world game time.

Death Stranding isn't an open world game. The world is empty. There is nothing of value to explore. It's a literal walking simulator.
Ghost of Tsushima on this one. It's actually a fun game.

skyrim is popular, or used to be. Great adventure open world with quests and action

There are lot of others too. I feel these are all good

DS kinda boring, melancholic, tedious, long, with repeatable songs(MGS5 had more variety of song). So you can try it if you like to waste your time)
GoT is beautiful game with good gameplay, nice story, good sound design and not so tedious and long as DS.
Got platinum, and played even more in end-game co-op activities which is fun.
