Since April's Fools jokes were mentioned yesterday, I played my best one on my mum and dad years ago. Not because it was so original, but because how telling it was about what my parents are like.

I had just started university and started dating a nice girl who was a freshman too.
On April 1st I called both of my parents separately to inform them, that they would become grandparents soon.

Reaction of my mum: "Oh my! How is [name of the girl]? Is she OK? If she needs someone to talk to or some help, I'm here for you both."

Reaction of my dad: "Do you even want that girl? Do you need money for alimony?"

Mine are in the ground, so probably not. One was great, she always played cards with us, but I only saw her a few times as she lived far away. The other that was local, was a crazy bitch. Both lived to be 83. Don't worry, I know you meant well.

Hmmmmmm I think it would be that the Earth will be just fine. People run around saying that we are destroying the planet, using it up and poisoning it for profit. Well my fact is that Earth will be just fine. The ecosystem will maybe be completely different, humans will certainly be gone and the cockroaches may be in charge but Earth itself will go on -- just as if we never existed. Reptiles evolved around 320 million years ago. Dinosaurs dominated the Earth for approximately 165 million years and are still around now in the guise of birds. Fish evolved somewhere around 530 million years ago. Somewhere between 300 and 500 thousand years ago modern man appeared. We have only been here for a blink in time and we will not be missed.

I would have to say a mentor of mine. An English gentleman who was naturalist / explorer / writer. I sat with him for hours back in the day listening to his stories about Madagascar, the Amazon, the Galapagos Islands and many other places. that he had traveled to over the years. Through him I met many of his friends like Sir David Attenborough, Frances Hamerstrom and Steve Irwin. He would host "salon style" gatherings at his home. I would also love to have a dinner with Rachel Carson, I never actually met her but did correspond with her (1 letter) when I was very young. Later in life I discovered that I had unknowingly rented a house when I was in my 30s on the island where they scattered her ashes.

Wow! That's really cool! I bet he ha's endless stories, and talk about some impactful people as friends. super neat

Probably my mom. She passed last year from cancer and if I had a chance to talk with her again, I would if I could.

I've been to TIFF a few times, but I haven't been in a number of years. It was quite fun to experience. Got to see Robin Williams introduce Jacob the Liar, I'll never forget that.

Question 2 would probably be playing guitar. I am good at a lot of things, but I don't have any artistic skill at all. Would love to be able to just sit down and casually play some acoustic guitar.
