I changed it to the new one to see what everyone was talking about (I was still using OASIS) and then I didn't know how to change it back, thank you (and Shawn) for the link!

I always changed it with the paintbrush icon but I think the new theme doesn't have it?
Yupp, basically the same with me, and no it didn't have it, you had to go to your profile preferences and change it there. :p

I don't know how poor you can be, but I live in an apartment paying rent and I owe about 13,000 dollars to the bank. And I owe about 14.500 dollars to individuals personally. And I only earn 1550 dollars a month. Do you think you are poor or I am poor?
Damn man, how did you end up like that?

Online Gambling. Don't get involved, it'll put out the fire. It will destroy your family. You can lose your wife, your children, your future. I've experienced it up close. I came close to suicide a couple of times, but I'm fine now. I'm going to work on it. I hope I'll get better soon. I'm so sad. I curse every day. But the day will come when I will lie on my sun lounger and drink my martini while putting my feet in the warm sea.

Well, at least it was something completely within your control, so you could deal with it. Lucky me - i'm completely averse to all gambling - was cheated out of my money during school summer camp, spent 2 weeks without a penny, being miserable and hating everything, never had any interest in gambling ever again.
Sadly that damned industry is on the rise currently. My city is flooded with ads of online casinos.

I understand probability and statistics too much to think gambling is a good idea. Lotteries are even worse than the casinos - like an extra tax on people bad at math.

Yeah, I do, and I'm sure you'll find a lot of people here that do. Friends and family sometimes can't understand the struggle either due to them having not experienced it yet or just not knowing how to express to you that they want you to be ok. So they may say things that can ring hollow but may genuinely come from a place of love. The best I can tell you is that you are not alone and that having depression doesn't make you lesser than anyone. That no matter how hard things get, life always seems to find a way to get better if you hang on.
Depression is the worst. I have bipolar depression which can get pretty bad even when I'm taking my meds. It is great when you can find friends/family that accept you for who you are, even though you are depressed. Kind of like Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh. He's always down and depressed, but his friends are always there for him.:LOL:💚
I have given this some more thought and decided that I would go back to any day in 2009, empty my entire savings and 401K and buy bitcoin.

Bitcoin had a price of zero when it was introduced in 2009. Its price jumped from its long-held level of $0.10 to $0.20 on Oct. 26, 2010. Before the year had closed out, it had reached $0.30. In 2011, it started growing past $1, reaching a peak of $29.60 on June 8, 2011; however, a sharp recession in cryptocurrency markets followed, and price dropped, closing the year at about $5.

bitcoin closed at $106,749 on January 22, 2025. Sigh -- shoulda - woulda - coulda - didn't
Daaamn...I never following Bitcoin, because to be honest I don't exactly understand it. If only you had a peek into the future, that would have been a huge jackpot! 💲💰💲💰💚
Thank you! 💚
sadly :( why cant everyone just respect each other? enough to make a grown kitty cry :(
Much agreed. I have a hard time finding people that I enjoy socializing with, but I still want the best for people and try to always be kind and respectful. 💚

How did you get this? Did you and Guz spend a few sensual hours together? You know...

I have particular views on money, I won't spend it unless it's something I want to make my life better, otherwise, I'm a miser. I rarely eat out, unless it's super late and I don't feel like cooking, or I'm away from home. I rarely have coffee, if it's not at home, because anything buy outside of Gas Station stuff or McCafe Coffee seems overly expensive, a bunch of little things build up super fast. Having $1000 in your wallet isn't a lot, but owing somebody that $1k is painful or stressful. I'm willing to dress casually in cheap clothes from walmart, or even second hand stuff. Though, I have nice clothes I only wear on special occasions. I'll buy expensive electronics, or rent/buy digital movies, if physical are unavailable, since my hobbies outside of work feel like the only thing that keeps me sane. I'm super neurotic, I've been in debt several times, and once I paid off my Student Loans and such, the burden being gone changed my life.

Gambling is a slippery slope, but at least you know where your problems originate, so rather than giving advice, I'll just say take care.

I mean if I was the government I would allow gambling...since it is kinda like a very consistent way to tax people.....
Love how they tax the winnings in winnings after a certain point....but can't use it as a tax deduction for loses haha.

Here's a tip, totally free of charge, interact here for some time, and this is the mind blowing part.
Suddenly you will have enough coins!

Edit: Of course if you mean real life, well I'm sorry, then this trick probably won't work...
Of course it will - just depends on your definition of "interact"

"Hello Niquel and welcome to the thread.
Take a moment to read through the very first post of it, then take a stroll through the university.
Both places have some good to know info. :p

Just logged in and noticed the new design! It looks good. Can't wait to see other changes as time progresses.

Edit: May have spoken too soon. I did notice the tags for game thumbnails being displayed weirdly when I check the latest updates.

Taxation is theft in general) But my prefered example of "evil government" is alcohol and tobacco - legal narcotics which are spread far and wide without a care in order to earn fat stacks with excise tax.

The first time I went to a casino I won 2600 dollars - being the idiot that I was at the time I thought -- hey 2600 dollars in 2 hours? - HELL, I can do this for a living! Went back three days later -- and lost 400 dollars in 15 minutes -- cured me --- I never went back.
